Fancy a image revamp - any ideas?

I have had a pretty rubbish year relationship wise and feel like investing in myself to cheer myself up. I've attached a pic - anyone got suggestions of colours/styles that might suit me? I'm open to suggestions.

At the hairdresser on Saturday - usually have highlights but could do something different

You've got a great face (very pretty) so could probably get away with anything you fancy. I am also booked in to the hairdresser's on Saturday for a restyle and I'm trying to decide between a choppy bob or crop. I doubt I'll come out looking quite as fabulous as these pictures but hey ho Grin

Ooh I like the choppy bob! Wonder if I should go shorter but not brave enough!

Meh, it's only hair it'll grow back Grin. Maybe a side swept fringe like choppy bob lady if you don't want anything too drastic? Hard to comment on colour from the photo but it looks good as it is.

noddyholder · 05/02/2015 18:04

You have a great face and would really suit a short choppy pixie cut

GoGoNinjaDinosaur · 05/02/2015 18:11

I agree with noddy. Or even a longer crop if the first one's too scary?

This is the usual highlighted look I go for - thinking of going blonder and maybe bobbed? It's naturally curly though so I worry it'll frizz.

You are very pretty.

I think blonde and quite bright red highlights?

I personally wouldn't go shorter BUT that is me, who has crap hair that takes ages to grow so biased opinion :)

Twinklestein · 05/02/2015 18:48

Very pretty!

I love the colour and length in your 18:27 post, I think it's just right.

If you didn't want to do a bob you could try something like this

namechangingreg · 05/02/2015 19:33

Ooh I like that - twinklestein!

From the first photo, I confident that you have winter colouring. So I don't think that highlights are a good idea, you look a bit washed out in the later picture. I prefer you with bold lipstick and matching nails.
Try a funky hairstyle with Mac Ruby Woo lipstick maybe?

squoosh · 05/02/2015 20:12

Well I love your hair in the second photo especially. I don't know about going blonder though, I think it might make your skin look quite sallow.

TheyLearnedFromBrian · 05/02/2015 20:17

I like you darker - blonder hair definitely not as right, you look sallower.

You also have a longish face, and especially in the second picture, the longer hair drags it down a bit. So I'd definitely go for the short crop - I reckon it will look amazing - you have a brilliant face, such amazing eyes.

Twinklestein · 05/02/2015 20:39

You don't look washed out in the slightest in pic 2 OP. Matching lipstick and nails is just no...

namechangingreg · 05/02/2015 21:25

Hmm mixed opinions. I might be brave a lop off a bit, but a crop scares me. Had one aged 10 and kept getting called sonny Grin

Maybe no lighter then, just a few highlights and some darker tones?

I really like your current look however really do like the spiked flat top with a permed back section. Go for pastel colours on the high face brings out the colour of ones eyes.

A nice necklace with a pendant would not go amiss too!

namechangingreg · 05/02/2015 22:53

Not sure what the high face is? Not keen on pendants either. I am quite pared back with jewellery ( ie don't wear any!)

I think you would suit darker rather than blonder.

Nextwednesday · 05/02/2015 23:08

Mind you, you are amazingly pretty so would probably suit anything.

Nextwednesday · 05/02/2015 23:09

Most of us me who want a makeover really need one.

cerealqueen · 05/02/2015 23:20

this would look lovely, length at the front to frame your face

Sorry to hear of bad times, onward and upwards!

cerealqueen · 05/02/2015 23:24

Sorry, lost link, will try again!

Before you go changing hair colours will you indulge me and wear cooler colours nearer your face with that same bright lipstick? You look as if you're tryingto warm up what looks like a winter complexion so how about you just switch to cooler tones? Try burgundy, charcoal, black,, dark navy, or cobalt blue, even fuchsia near your face but stick with the bright lip and see if that makes a difference.

I don't like the caramel tones, you have my colouring and I'm a deep winter. I love the fringe idea in twinklesteins link.

For eye shadows try greys and ice pinks.

These are just cheap ideas to see if you fancy a change to cooler tones. Google deep winter or sultry winter for ideas. You could of course be a cool winter or a jewel winter but start somewhere with winter and see if you like it.
