Has anybody had a broken nose fixed? Tell me what you did.

I've just broken mine (I won't explain how, because it's too ludicrous, but I wasn't drunk!)

Has anybody else broken theirs and had it fixed? How soon after the accident? Did the NHS do it, or did you go private? Did it look better after the fix than it did before? Would you do it again?

Please share your experiences!

My nose was broken for me. Had it realigned at my local hospital- probably not ENT specialist. Job was done quickly as day surgery, had a general anaesthetic, honestly pain free afterwards. No bruising or swelling as my nose was just put back into place instead of on my left cheek.

Only issue is that it's a bit wonky with a small lump on the bridge. This was late 90's and there is no way I'd consider getting my wonky nose unwonked now.

They did it around 10 days after the biatch punched me. Was walking around with a black eye and nose sat across my face. Frankly was happy with a but of a wonky nose after that.

Paramedic today told me that he'd watched a nose op in theatre and thought it was 'brutal'. Gulp.

The circumstances weren't the best! In all honesty most operations are brutal, I've seen a few as I'm a nurse but you will be asleep so you won't know. Your nose is already broken, that's the painful bit. Maybe get this put on the health section for other opinions? Good luck though op, your nose will be in it's rightful place soon!
