Hi, I'm mid forties (just about still!), never really bothered that much with my skin, just cleansing wipes and moisturiser (naughty of me I know!).

This winter I have developed a dry patch of flaky skin on my forehead and smaller patches sometimes on my cheeks. I am belatedly doing a Simple facial scrub once a week and daily Clean & Clear facial wash followed by the old Protect & Perfect moisturiser. No improvement as yet.

Any ideas or suggestions for me? My skin is normal, never get spots or balckheads etc and not oily.

I'm willing to pay middle price range for something that will work at sorting it out.

Many thanks in advnace

Clean & Clear plus a scrub sounds a bit harsh if you are experiencing dryness. A richer cleanser and a hot flannel might suit you better. Superdrug do a couple of nice hot cloth cleansers at very reasonable prices if you wanted to try it out without spending too much.

Nabootique - thanks for such a quick and helpful response! Would you suggest that every day then instead of the other two products??

Yes, use it in place of the wash and the flannel action should mean you don't need a separate scrub. Do you do a morning cleanse as well, or just evening?

Another, albeit boring thing to consider is whether you are drinking enough water each daily.. Starting the day with medium hot water and a squeeze of lemon helps skin too.

I started using Aveeno this winter and it's made a real difference. I buy it from Sainsbury's or Boots. This one but in a bigger size.

I used Elemis papaya enzyme peel to get rid of the flaky skin I had before I started using the Aveeno stuff.

Maybe try the oil cleansing method? Great instructions how to do it here www.fushi.co.uk/healthy-lifestyle-news/oil-cleansing-method-for-glowing-skin/

Also moisturizing oils like rosehip, moringa, tamanu or camellia are lovely for dry skin

I have similar and have just started using Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish again 2-3 times a week.

It seems to be making a difference. I'm also putting a bit of Elizabeth Arden 8-hour cream/ointment on the worst areas at night. It's quite greasy but seems to be helping Smile
