Help me find boring work trousers for shortarses.

I need trousers. For work.

I am 5'2" and trousers never fit me, they drag along the ground and go raggedy instantly. Size 12, but rather fat of tum.

They are to be worn with flats. Nothing too... directional.

Oh, and I want to buy them on the internet.

I am aware that this is literally the most boring request in the history of S&B, but I need help!

Ditto. I usually buy gap black stretchy straight ones and get them taken up. But I'd love to buy off the shelf, so hope someone knowledgable comes along.

Banana Republic petite are a great fit on me (5'1") but a bit pricy unless you get a discount code

Love the Banana Republic ones buy they're dry clean only.

Buy longer ones and get them altered. Our local dry cleaner offers alterations now. Am also a short arse and often get the ends of trousers lopped off.

The best work trousers I ever found, and this was a while back, were from Phase Eight, who altered them for me.

Banana Republic ones are nice but dry clean is an impossibility for me.

And ditto, really, to getting them taken up. I just never manage to get round to it.

I want to buy some that just fit. It can't be impossible!

The only ones I can buy "off the shelf" and wear with flats without taking them up are tesco F&F extra short. They are £6 and don't look it!

these M&S autograph ones come in short and have a nice feel to them (on me at least!)
