It feels like I need a body

I've got to find something stylish to go under suit jackets now separate seem to be more fashionable. All shirts look crap on me: bust pops out, waist obliterated etc. So I was thinking about looking for bodies. The problem is they don't seem to have been in circulation since 1998. Well, about four years ago I saw a gorgeous silk cowl neck on by Donna Karen. Price £1800. But that's it.

Any advice? Has anyone see anything that might work as a smooth, non-bulky alternative to a shirt? Non-bulky is definitely important...

Wolford do lots of different ones but they are extortionate (last forever though).

That's exactly the sort of thing, thanks. Big shame that's not in more colours. The ideal would have a sort of shirt collar too.

Me and em do these layering shirts that are kind of bodies without the underneath/babygro bit

jersey

Not tried them but might be worth a try

Boohoo has loads. Most are, um, unsuitable for a work enviroment but there are a few that look promising.

Not a body, but for shirts check out pepperberry, biubiu and urkye. They all do shirts which have extra boob room. Pepperberry for example does Curvy, really curvy and super curvy (and sometimes super duper curvy) - so if you had for example a size 12 waist, but 32HH boobs you'd probably buy a 12 Super Curvy instead of having to buy a 16 in a normal shop and it being like a tent everywhere else!

I'll have a look, thanks!

Jojo do them I think. They're supposed to be suitable to wear at all stages of pregnancy and beyond..

LackingCommonSense · 01/02/2015 09:58

Ah not body suits, they're wrap around tops!

HappyGirlNow · 01/02/2015 12:03

Why does it need to be a body? Why not just get some nice tops without buttons to tuck into your trousers/skirts? Confused

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 01/02/2015 14:09

Agree with Happy - I just wear slim fitting long sleeve t-shirts with a skirt suit. This sort of thing except mine have slightly higher necks

Lucked · 01/02/2015 14:32

Shirt variety here but gaping buttons would still be an issue. There are some other style and makes at the bottom of the page.

Victoria's Secret do nice bodies in their workwear clothing range. Have a look at their clothing online.
