Spent a year highlighting my hair blonde. Eventually realised it's was a very expensive habit that really didn't suit me

I've done about 4 rounds of semi dye since then, hoping someone can tell me when it's okay to start using permanent dye instead?

you can use it whenever you like I would have thought. Highlighted areas will turn out a bit lighter than non-highlighted areas
