I live a short walk away, could've have gone today but I'm working half day and then going to watch a taping of graham norton. So I'll go tomorrow or Saturday (by which time all good stuff will be gone, damn!)

silversixpence · 29/01/2015 15:55

I went, it was absolutely packed and the queue went all the way round Chelsea hall and out of the door Shock

People were buying sackfuls of stuff but I ended up with a few dresses, a jumper t shirt and the silk trousers which were a bargain at £15. Don't think it was as cheap as the last one but good if you need to stock up in basics like t shirts, plain jumpers and trousers.

Stokey · 29/01/2015 16:05

I went too. There was a lot more s/m and m/l stuff than xs. I really wanted some long sleeve tees but there were none in xs. But I did get a couple of pairs of PJs, a jumper, a cardie, some harems, and a couple of vests. Oh and a Rosie dress.

The queue took an hour. Price wise Jumpers, cardies, dresses and PJ sets were £15. I think skirts and trousers were £10 and tees and vests were £5. Shoes were £50.

mirpuppet · 29/01/2015 16:09

Thanks for the report. Particular about prices and the queue. I bet the weekend will be just as bad.

I will pass as I don't need any more clothes. (Spent the afternoon tidying my wardrobe).

You lucky people, I love hush but not in the UK Sad

BallroomWithNoBalls · 29/01/2015 18:47

I will be going either tomorrow or Sat - queues don't sound good. I got sackfuls last time when it was in Battersea, a bit hidden away so I don't think it was that busy.

Rosie dress for £15 probably worth queuing for Smile

StrawberryTallCake · 29/01/2015 19:53

I went and managed to get very near the front although it didn't really matter as within 5 mins of the doors opening everyone was inside. Everything is very well labelled and there seemed to be a lot of each item so even when the crowds are in you may still get what you want - people also try things on before they buy and then discard the things they don't want which you might?

Head for the cashmere scarves, jackets and shoes as that's where the best bargains are (imo). The prices that I remember are -

Tshirts - £5
Tops - £10
Skirts - £10 or £15 (can't quite remember)
Dresses - £15
Jumpers - £15
Sandals - £15
Boots - £50
Cashmere jumpers - £50
Cashmere scarves - £35
Silk scarves - £35

zinnia · 29/01/2015 19:54

I've just come back, went after work - no queue at all, not that many people inside either. There was still a lot of stock, though obviously not as much as when it opened.

I got two sweatshirts (AW14 stock, one of which I'd tried and failed to buy for £30 last month) for £8 each.

Plenty of parka coats for I think £50 & Michelle coats for £70. The PJs were selling fast!

StrawberryTallCake · 29/01/2015 19:56

Oh and the queue to pay was pretty awful but if you have cash you can pay much more quickly, once you see it getting big get in it quick - if you're with a friend take it in turns to stand in the queue and look through the boxes.

If the ladies with babies who were there today read this - you were very brave! I saw lots of people not moving out of the way or being too helpful to you and hope you managed to get some nice things. Brew Wine

BallroomWithNoBalls · 06/02/2015 11:28

In a masssssive queue to even get in to the Clapham one today Sad not sure I will even get in as I have a scan at 2.30pm! Grrrr.

Corygal · 06/02/2015 11:59

Ballroom, are you in yet? I'm coming down and I can get you a coffee or something! I live 5 min away and on pc at the moment, so let me know and I can arrive with sustenance....

BallroomWithNoBalls · 06/02/2015 13:38

So kind corygal! I've replied to your pm but sorry to have missed you. Hope you got in and were as successful as me!

The queue moved reasonably quickly and I am on the train home with lots of goodies Smile There was no queue at all when I left, and lots of stuff still left - is very jumble saley and everything very crumpled, but keep your focus and there are bargains aplenty. No accessories at all left though, bar some red lace pants. Quite a few sandals for £10 and boots for £40, loads of the parkas with blue furry hoods for £40. Lots and lots of knitwear in all sizes for £10. Menswear all at £2!

I got (amongst quite a lot else ahem) the aubergine scoop neck dress in cupro that is dry clean only, it's so crumpled but for a tenner it's lovely.couple of pairs of slim leg joggers for a fiver each, some shorts for summer, some purple /pink stars PJs, grey tube skirt, pale pink fine knit midi dress with racer back, marine Charlene dress, ok that's everything Grin for a grand total of £60 I'm happy.

Corygal · 06/02/2015 14:02

I thought of standing on Clapham Common with a Mumsnet mug and my head thrown back shrieking BALLROOM BALLROOOM BALLROOOOM but to be honest round here you'd just blend into the background. Glad you made it and had a fine old root around.

I bought the Scoop dress too! In aubergine AND black. I scored a dressing gown, a cardigown and a maxi dress, with everything a tenner, and a 2-tone cashmere jersey for 30 quid.

Mind you, when I got home I realised the so-called L-XL maxidress would not fit a small child; might be worth checking the sizes if anyone is reading this and hasn't been yet.

Buckets of knitwear and dresses, pjs etc., some silk., lots of tempting cosy stuff still lurking.

pootlebug · 06/02/2015 14:09

I went last weekend on Sat. No queue at all (I didn't arrive at the start). Way less XS stuff than any other size, which was a bit disappointing, but I got 2 tube ruched skirts for £10 each, and a pair of jogging bottoms for a fiver.

Chchchchanging · 07/02/2015 21:09
