I shaved my head and started my grey journey.

I was originally darkest brown but had bleached it and dyed it pillarbox red in an attempt to hide my greys. The bleach destroyed my hair so I decided to go big or go home and reached for DP's Wahl clippers.

This is my totally natural hair now and I bloody love it Grin.

To anyone dithering about going grey I say a heartfelt DO IT!!

Wow ! You look great... I wish I was brave enough to do it :)

Behooven · 28/01/2015 16:42

If I had your bone structure I would do it Envy

However, I would more resemble Nanny McPhee as it's really ageing on me.

Confusedmoo · 28/01/2015 16:55

Oh my word! I have never been so jealous in my life! I would love to have the balls to do that! Well done for being so brave!

applesandchairs · 28/01/2015 16:56

It looks lovely

hellsbellsmelons · 28/01/2015 17:04

I had mine cut short and grew mine out years ago.
It looked NOTHING like yours.
It didn't suit at all and I've been blonde ever since.
That's looks fab.
But not everyone's hair looks that good when they let the grey appear!

GlitzAndGigglesx · 28/01/2015 17:12

Wow it actually suits you. I love that cut but wouldn't be able to carry it off Sad

IlonaRN · 28/01/2015 19:07

Your hair looks amazing!!

SoMuchForSubtlety · 28/01/2015 19:09

That looks beautiful. Sadly my hair would be a frizzy puffball of doom if I had that cut. Although it would be at least as grey...

OneLittleLady · 28/01/2015 19:11

you look really great Smile

wow looks fab

Bodicea · 28/01/2015 19:15

Wow it looks fantastic! Looks like you have done a cool dye effect on purpose.

Spybot · 28/01/2015 19:16

When did you start to go grey OP? I found my first grey hair at age 22. I keep my hair highlighted and lowlighted now but I would say I was about 10% grey now, 15 years on.

EyelinerQueen · 28/01/2015 19:22

Thanks everyone Smile .

Spy I think I got my first white hairs at about 23/24. I'm 34 now and as you can see about 75%? grey. I had to do a full dye every 4 weeks and a root touch up in between just to stay on top of it. It was so expensive and a total PITA.

Now I use a purple shampoo and a toning conditioner. Much easier Grin .

Naicecuppatea · 28/01/2015 19:24

Gorgeous! You have definitely done the right thing.

Spybot · 28/01/2015 19:28

Wow, so you went grey quick. Well it looks lovely and those purple shampoos and conditioners get a good result.

Clarabumps · 28/01/2015 19:33

I remember your thread a while ago. Jeez it's beautiful!! I love it! I wish I had more grey and I'd do the full thing.

MeganChips · 28/01/2015 19:46

I love it, I'm so jealous!

I have been going grey since my twenties and am now 41. My parting is completely white, as is my hairline. I have been so tempted to get it cut really short and grow it out but I'm scared of looking awful and much older.

I have a professional, client facing job and just daren't!

You look beautiful OP.

soupmaker · 28/01/2015 20:04

I have a professional, client facing job and (shock, horror) a curly grey/white bob. I'm often asked about it in a very admiring way. Go for it Megan.

EyelinerQueen you look amazing. Brilliant hair.

MeganChips · 28/01/2015 20:22

It's not the grey that scares me so much soup, it's the going too short first. It really doesn't suit me.

Bowednotbroken · 28/01/2015 20:22

Your hair looks amazing and it really suits you. I had mine cut recently to try and go grey gracefully but the back is still very dark, the front is white and there's lots of dye lurking around the sides!! Looks a real mess.... Oh well, it'll grow

NomDePlumeRidesAgain · 28/01/2015 20:27

EQ, it helps that you have great bone structure and what looks like (from that angle) a fab face. Your hair looks ace.

soupmaker · 28/01/2015 21:15

Megan I started my grey journey with a French crop. Not as scary as shaving it all off!

KissyBoo · 29/01/2015 10:41

You look beautiful. How amazing is your natural hair? It really isn't ageing in the slightest.

Right that's it I'm fed up of touching my roots every two weeks- I'm going for it too.

Thanks for the inspiration x

BoftheP · 29/01/2015 11:16

Looks amazing op. I have 5cm if grey roots at the moment, longest I,ve gone without dying my hair. Am naturally curly, prob less than 50% grey with naturally dark brown to black hair but want my hair to look like St Vincent. I expect hers is dyed to get a more even look.
