Could you recommend a good and not too pricey shampoo and conditioner for sensitive skin?

I have always been a bit sensitive but have now tried so many different types I have lost which ones don't irritate and am now covered in itchy spots!

I get a sensitive scalp too, have found Lush shampoos and conditioners to be excellent. Try the shampoo bars, they are pricey at a tenner or so each but they will last for absolutely ages honest.

Its not cheap £20ish but Philip Kingsley Flaky Itchy Scalp may sort you out. At the cheaper end - Not tried this but Herbal Essences has got a range called Naked (no silicone, parabens or colourants).

Dead Sea Salt Magik Mineral shampoo - it's about £7 so isn't cheap but is brilliant for this and aside from the itchiness solving, my hair has never been in such good condition. Can get it from Amazon, Boots, some large Tescos and health food stores. www.amazon.co.uk/Dead-Sea-Spa-Magik-Mineral/dp/B000KU934E/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1414002834&sr=8-2&keywords=dead+sea+spa+magik

Barefoot SOS is the only brand that works for me. Is still get horrific dandruff some days (though less so) but the itch has gone which I have never managed before.

Hi, i used to use Tgel for my really sensitive scalp but its £7ish a bottle so i tried vosene sensitive one on the off chance and it is great. Only £1.79 in asda. No problems and been using it for about 6 months.

I find it is the SLS and parabens in shampoo that make me itchy so I either buy the herbal essences New 0% range or tresemme naturals which are be and not too expensive, or the l'oreal everpure if it's on offer.

steppeinginto2015 · 23/01/2015 20:40

Interesting elderflower because Herbal Essence makes me itch.

I have found that Vosene 2 in1 actually seems to work for me at the moment. But I also find whatever I use is fine for a few months and then I start to itch again!

I suffer with eczema on my scalp and the only thing that works for me is the Lush Soak n Float shampoo bar which is about £6. I've not tried some of the others mentioned on here though but may give them a go as the Lush store is not always convenient to get to for me. Thanks all.

CheeseEater · 23/01/2015 22:20

The body shop ginger one has stopped my head itching and the patchy eczema I used to get, although I do think it strips the dye out of my hair!

ThatBloodyWoman · 23/01/2015 22:21

I found dr organics, and faith in nature good.

Secretsout · 23/01/2015 22:57

I have a very sensitive scalp....TGel works for me

Tournesol · 24/01/2015 07:34

Thanks so much for all the ideas. I will go into boots today to see if I can find anything.

It used to just be itchy head but I now have itchy ears and blotches on my neck! Just want to stop itching!

I love Australian Organics! and Weleda calendula hair and body wash, which is technically for babies but really nice for anyone.

If you're going to Boots check their baby section (where they have Weleda for example), the main shampoo bit doesn't have much out of the ordinary. Holland and barrett is better.

velourvoyageur · 24/01/2015 09:03

Might you have some type of dermatitis? Worth checking because it's very manageable and you can get special shampoos which help a lot.

Otherwise there's an E45 shampoo which is very gentle, or a Yves Rocher Douceur one which is also good.

I used to use the Body Shop Ginger one all the time- it is absolutely fantastic stuff.
