Shrinking Cos jumpers?

BritabroadinAsia · 23/01/2015 02:29

Has anyone had problems with Cos wool (actually 90% wool, 10% linen) jumpers shrinking when washed at 30 degrees on wool cycle?

This has now happened a second time (same style of jumper) - first time I took back the offending jumper and got an exchange, but this different one in a slightly different fabric composition has done the same. Not expecting my local Cos store to be quite as accommodating and smiley second time around and I love the jumper and want a new one, which will be gently rubbed under cold water henceforth so wondered if it was a universal problem, or just my evil washing machine?

Not just you. I bought two jumpers from Cos, loved them both, washed them both very carefully on wool setting as per washing instructions. Both came out of machine size age 4 (one had felted). Cos exchanged them for me but made me feel as though I was entirely at fault. This was a few years ago now and since then, I've only ever dry cleaned them and any other knitwear purchased in Cos (£££ but I sneak them in with husband's suits etc) I'd recommend dry cleaning or just getting a refund and shopping elsewhere. Good luck!

Do you use a wool wash? I use a wool wash and the hand wash setting on the machine and I've never had a shrinkage, inc. with Cos, on that combo.

However, I've had shrinkage with the wool cycle and a regular non-bio detergent quite a few times.

Thank you both - am going to try to return a second time and be even more careful in the future.
