I've tried loads and my hands are still dry. I don't mind spending up to £20 for something that will soothe my poor sore hands!

Burts bees hand salve... it's a little bit greasy but slather it on at night with a pair of cotton gloves & it's amazing. Their cuticle balm is also great for hands.

The Norwegian formula Nutrogena is good, and also Elizabeth Arden 8 hour handcream (which I once bought by mistake thinking if was the regular 8 hour cream).

Also, if you ever have time to sit around with sticky hands, try Vaseline (or with under gloves you don't mind sliming) traditionally overnight.

Kiehl's! (Putting it on as we speak! Well maybe after but you get my meaning!)

Gunpowder · 22/01/2015 23:38

I've got kiehl's and clarins which are both great, but my winner is l'occitane lavender foot(!) cream. The Shea butter handcream is good too but not as hardcore if your hands are really dry.

LadyB49 · 22/01/2015 23:41

Neutrogena Norwegian. Every time.

WilburIsSomePig · 22/01/2015 23:42

Have tried the Norwegian formula but it made my hands drier. I think there's something wrong with me!

Norwegian formula is bloody good.

I also like 'this works'

Pipbin · 22/01/2015 23:43

I've tried a zillion of them Aveeno is best. You can get it for about £3 in Savers.

candykane25 · 23/01/2015 00:16

Burts Bees almond hand cream. Very thick, better than the salve.

Laptopwieldingharpy · 23/01/2015 02:54

La roche posay lipikar hand ream. Great absorbency and tolerance .
the only thing that has sorted very painful bouts of eczema on fingertips.

Laptopwieldingharpy · 23/01/2015 02:57

Creams like Neutrogena and aveno skin relief contain a lot of petrolatum jelly which is not a great choice but acts efficiently as a barrier if handwashing is a problem.
A much better choice with petrolatum jelly is the Australian lucas paw paw ointment which an amazing all round skin salve at a fraction of the price of the E Arden 8 hour cream.

yy to the gloves. Then keep creams every where you go: kitchen, bathroom, bedside table, office, car etc. Put it on all the time.

This cream is incredible. We have a range of skin issues and yet it works fantastically without irritating. Can't recommend it highly enough!

moo goo balm has dead my DS's poor hands, (severe eczema and sensitivity) I started using it myself with gloves overnight and it has completely healed my hands too.
I think the link will bring you to the Australian site - it s available in Ireland and there s an irish site I m unsure if it s in the uk.
I use the cream and the soap too and it d cleared up you know that rough pimply skin you get on your arms ? Can't remember the name of it but it, cleared it now though.

Before I used this I also found 8 hour cream with the gloves brilliant for my hands (but my daughter wouldn't tolerate the smell of 8 hour cream).

I always have a small tube of l occitaine in my handbag too.

But the moo goo stuff is quite impressive in how it s healed up.

Turquoiseblue · 23/01/2015 07:20

That should be cleared my d s s eczema not dead Smile

applecatchers36 · 23/01/2015 07:24

L'occitane lavender is thick & smells lovley, almond body shop also nice but not so thick...

RosyAuroch · 23/01/2015 07:31

My husband loves L'Occitane Shea butter hand cream
I prefer to use the pure shea butter they do in a can

Peanut15 · 23/01/2015 07:33

I use lotil cream from the chemist for my dry chapped and cracked farmers hands. Cheap, cheerful and v healing.

Floisme · 23/01/2015 07:46

I second Neutrogena but when my hands are really bad I use Lansinoh pure lanolin nipple cream. I mix it with a bit of almond oil to make it 'spreadable'. It's never let me down yet!

Nolim · 23/01/2015 07:49

Doublebase

yazzy85 · 23/01/2015 11:59

Aveeno one is really great, not too greasy either!

RingtheBells · 23/01/2015 12:26

When my hands get bad I put Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream on and cotton gloves on overnight for a couple of nights, they are soon better again. Then I just use my normal hand cream, which is Body Shop Hemp or Neutrogena as normal

RingtheBells · 23/01/2015 12:29

Oh, the 8 hour cream is the protectant one thats orange, greasy and smelly, (that's why I wear the cotton gloves in bed) I haven't tried the hand cream one.

DidoTheDodo · 23/01/2015 13:12

I have eczema on my hands and love Avon Glycerine Hand and Nail cream. It works for me. And it's dirt cheap too so I don't have to ration it at all.

polyhymnia · 23/01/2015 13:21

Definitely the Clarins one for me.
