But that link doesn't work, it just goes straight to the home page

like all other topshop links (and it won't even load on my pc anyway as there are 2 million lurkers who want to know what sort of dresses a load of fictitious women on the interweb like )

FrannyandZooey · 18/10/2006 20:55

you lovely internet sprite clothes lackeys you

niceglasses · 18/10/2006 20:59

Think they are having a sale hence slowness of site. Love Topshop me - I'll have to take a piccy and send you.

GreenSepticStumps · 18/10/2006 21:13

here you go Franny, made for you

beegee · 18/10/2006 21:13

Top Shop only suit you if you're a size 10 or below, surely?

heifer · 18/10/2006 21:18

Top Shop is from my youth, I didn't even realise it was still around... honestly....

FrannyandZooey · 18/10/2006 21:19

Greeny pops out to the Spar for a pint of milk

GreenSepticStumps · 18/10/2006 21:21

you forgot the eyebrow jewellery

beegee · 18/10/2006 21:25

I tried on pair of jeans from TopShop after having ds - - all jeans midrif (sp?) - I would be 'done' for lewd and antisocial behaviour if seen in those..

NotQuiteCockney · 18/10/2006 21:40

I am indeed a 14/16, which is thin for me, imo. Very large frame - I don't think I could get below a 12, without starvation or something.

I found a lovely website that purported to tell you your % fat, based on some arcane measurements, but promptly lost it.

Have been frying things for the co-op tomorrow, on the principle that they hate my cooking, but maybe if it's really high fat?

NotQuiteCockney · 18/10/2006 21:42

Oh, and I have some Monsoon stuff, somewhere. But it's generally a bit frilly for me.

I like Esprit now, but that may be because, when I lived in Canada, I couldn't afford it or fit into it, and now I can do both. Bizarrely, I am an 18 in Esprit, so they have deeply bizarre sizing ...

pookey · 18/10/2006 21:42

OOh topshop on line fab, I feel embarrased to go in there cos they told me to go to evans when I asked if their jeans went any higher than a 16! grrr . Where is good to shop if you are a 16/18 in your 20s and have sod all money, dont answer that! Niceglasses that ts dress would certainly draw attention not sure if it is amazing or revolting!

NotQuiteCockney · 18/10/2006 21:43

Yes, all the topshop links I see go straight to the home page, no actual content, just some woman in a skirt and shirt or something.

And looking at the link, there doesn't appear to be anything specific in it, so I don't see how it could lead anywhere useful.

NotQuiteCockney · 18/10/2006 21:44

I have been peering enviously at vintage shops of late, so I am probably going back to that. I miss vintage clothes.

Is there a UK equivalent to Value Village? Giant building full of random clothes?

harpsichordcarrion · 18/10/2006 21:46

NQC nope, fraid not.
pookey - New Look? the best place in the world imo

pookey · 18/10/2006 21:50

I think vintage can look so chic but I am useless at rifling through rales of random clothes. I get sucked in by outfits displayed on the manequins and end up traumitised when i try the outfits on

pookey · 18/10/2006 21:55

HC the new look near me is really small and doesnt seem to have much in a 16 or 18 so just end up having to choose from a few items in my size - I guess I need to get dp to look after ds for a day so i can go to a big shopping centre with a massive new look in it and actually try things on and everything... oooh shoping

NotQuiteCockney · 18/10/2006 21:56

I probably don't have time to rifle through lots of clothes. There are some chichi vintage places in Brick Lane, I should probably give them a go.

I often peer at the racks and racks of v cheap clothes at our local market (Frances, you should probably check those out if you're down on a Saturday or other market day) but generally can't face it ...

harpsichordcarrion · 18/10/2006 21:57

hmmm yes our new look is mahoosive.
matalan also good imo

NotQuiteCockney · 18/10/2006 22:01

Is Matalan the one that stocks all sorts of random brands, Dior next to whatever next to whatever? Or is that another one?

I really really don't shop very much ... does it show?

pookey · 18/10/2006 22:12

NQC I didnt even know they had vintage shops in brick lane so I take that prize!

pookey · 18/10/2006 22:14

Never been to Matalan, we have a tkmax nearby I might have a look in there.

NotQuiteCockney · 18/10/2006 22:14

I only know because I live near Brick Lane.

Seriously, I sometimes shop for clothes when in Canada (went lingerie shopping with DS1, which was great fun). The last time I bought serious amounts of clothing in this country was 6 or so years ago, before I first got pg. At which point, I was looking for black tailored workwear. I have a closet full of black tailored workwear, that I never liked that much, and which doesn't fit me now, anyway.

pookey · 18/10/2006 22:17

Maybe you could sell em on ebay?

NotQuiteCockney · 18/10/2006 22:18

Oh god, probably can't be bothered, will just stick them in a charity box or something.

I hate posting things, I'm meant to be posting a gift to my sister, and still haven't.
