Help!! Fab outfit needed for DS christening!

Hi, I haven't posted on style and beauty before but seen some lovely outfits suggested so thought I'd seek some help on here!
I've got my DS christening in 2weeks and while he is going to look gorgeous, me not so much. I've got an outfit if all else fail but I think it's plain, black shift dress and a burgundy waterfall blazer.
I'm a tall size 16-18, late twenties. Terrible legs so will be wearing black tights!
Any suggestions to get me hopefully looking fab! Thanks

i wore a jive dress, they cover a multitude of sins and are pretty and girly. would that be an option?

I've just bought a gorgeous dress from Mint Velvet. I went to the outlet so they don't seem to have my dress on their website but they do have some really lovely things on there so it might be worth checking it out.
