Here you go...

OP posts:
lalsy · 07/02/2015 12:14

Crepey meet up sounds great fun, if a little wet....

MI, boring post of the day, if your card is linked to an account, you can login and explain about touching in and not out and they refund your penalty fare. I went through a phase of finding weird ways to complete journeys that meant I had to to this a lot....

Blackduck · 07/02/2015 12:26

Sounds like a fun evening -sad to have missed it...

What's LaQueen been up to now?

bigTillyMint · 07/02/2015 14:03

Sorry about drowning you last night, MrsS and CVBlush But really enjoyed myself!

Feeling a bit tired despite a cockle-warming breakfast with Stropps - quiet day today.

Think our skiing holiday is doomed - bloody snowchain order has been refunded, so have found some others which are supposed to be delivered Monday/Tuesday. Fingers crossed!

MrsSchadenfreude · 07/02/2015 14:08

I think it washed most of the ketchup off, anyway, BTM. Grin

Good to see everyone. Where shall we go next time, then?

OP posts:
CointreauVersial · 07/02/2015 15:27

BTM, they had snowchains in my local Lidl yesterday.

hattymattie · 07/02/2015 18:11

BTM - I'm sure you can pick up some chains on the way - especially in the Alps - ideally before you start going upSmile .

BD - La queen has disappeared - apparently because someone was going to out her - there is an enormous thread in her honour.

Stropperella · 07/02/2015 18:12

What a great evening! Thank you so much to everyone who made it possible for me to come and thank you very, very much for the presents. Lovely, lovely crepeys :) I had very good reading material for the journey home (thank you, MrsS!) and I keep expecting my stealth hangover to pitch up, but I appear to have got away without one. Which is a bit odd. :)
I always feel my world is a bigger, better place after a crepey MU. And I always feel a whole lot more positive. {{{{group hug}}}}

addle · 07/02/2015 18:17

lovely to see you all and glad everyone got home safely. have been a mite delicate today but was worth it.

BTM I'm happy to go and check my Lidl for you tomorrow if that would be helpful.

QueenQueenie · 07/02/2015 19:06

Glad to hear a good time was had by all and sorry to have wimped out...
Next time?!
Quiet weekend here after hecticness of last Saturday when we had enormous dinner party for dh's belated birthday celebrations. It was great fun but too too tiring..
It's freezing cold here - not sure the heating is firing on all cylinders. Brrrrrrr.

QueenQueenie · 07/02/2015 19:07

Do I owe anyone any money for my no show? Can't remember what the deal was this time...

bigTillyMint · 07/02/2015 19:32

QQ, definitely not! But no wimping out next timeWink

Yes, Stropps, there is nothing like a crepey meet-up for cheering you up - glad we could celebrate your and MrsS's birthdays with plenty of flowing wine. And ketchup!

Thanks for the Lidl heads up - that's a very kind offer Addle, but I have ordered online (you have to get a very specific size for your tyres) and if something else goes wrong we will have to buy en route. I really, really don't think we'll reach the car hire place in time, but if we were to...

Blackduck · 07/02/2015 20:08

Stropps sorry to have missed it!! And I agree I come away from an MU feeling Grin

MollyAir · 07/02/2015 23:07

It was fantastic, thanks so much for organising it, BTM. I did not get soaked with anything, but my handbag, which had disappeared waaaay under the table, was a little wet. But not ketchuppy.

Hope all the people who couldn't make this one can make the next one. Such fun. Thanks

MrsSchadenfreude · 08/02/2015 15:19

I made a divine pudding today - apple and caramel. It was like a tarte tatin, but more cakey, and much better. I do like a proper pudding. Grin

DH has spent the weekend putting his CDs into alphabetical order.

I probably wrung my dress out on your bag, if it was near me, Molly. Sorry. Blush

OP posts:
bigTillyMint · 08/02/2015 15:52

MrsS, send the recipe to LalsyWink
And if the bag was wet, it was really my faultBlush

Having a fairly peaceful day as DH took DS to his match, and now they seem to have gone on to his "old" team's match and he is playing there tooHmm and DD actually took my advice and went for a run, so avoiding a meltdown earlier. Still time though!

lalsy · 08/02/2015 16:10

Mmm, yes please Mrs S.

BTM, hope it goes smoothly for dd this week, and she can get a confidence boost. I encourage dd to run too, to deal with angst.

I was going to do lots of ds-chivvying today but he has wisely gone to a large open space to play football do his coursework instead so I have sorted some holidays instead Grin.

Should we bring rolls of kitchen paper to the next meet up?

bigTillyMint · 08/02/2015 17:15

Aww, thanks LalsySmile How did your DS get on with his mocks?

And what holidays have you sorted?!

motherinferior · 08/02/2015 18:40

Oh dear. Sis not in good way. Has ha to cope with colostomy explosion. Mum has UTI which would also explain why she is so bonkers...

MrsSchadenfreude · 08/02/2015 18:46

Lalsy - and wet wipes!

Oh dear, MI, that's not good, for either your DSis or your DM. On the plus side, I suppose this means that she has been eating something...?

OP posts:
Auriga · 08/02/2015 19:17

Good news - managed a telephone conversation with the more ill of my two sisters. First time in over a year & a small sign of improvement.

Bad news - she showed minimal insight into how ill she is/has been & no understanding of the impact on anyone else. That, at least, is no worse than before. Still, it brought back the horrors of last year all too vividly & gave me a sleepless night Sad

Other sister better since being signed off work again. Not sure how this is going to turn out.

Stropps, I was glad to hear the MU was such a shot in the arm for you Smile

Like the sound of your cake MrsS. My banana cake is light and fluffy but a little dry for my taste. Maybe all it needs is ice cream?

Sorry to hear your DSis is having a difficult time MI. Urine infections really can knock elderly people sideways especially when they're already a bit under the weather.

In other parental news, woke in the night to find DM had left hot tap full on, no idea for how long. Bathroom was full of steam and taps, including cold tap, too hot to touch, so a fair while I think. Second time this week. Gas bill not going to be pretty.

MollyAir · 08/02/2015 20:16

MI, I used to find the whole business of cleaning up scary because of the risk of infection - which is why any ministering daughter needs nurses to advise, and to provide the kind of practical doo-dahs which are entirely the province of colostomy. Vast packets of disposable gloves are advisable.

Very, very upsetting for all concerned. Sad But it does get easier on a practical coping level.

Sisters, mothers, daughters. Good luck to us all with all that.

CointreauVersial · 08/02/2015 21:13

Oh, MI, that sounds awful for all concerned.

Meanwhile, at Chateau Cointreau we are waging war on rodents again. When I went to get my earphones for this morning's ladyjog, I found that something small and furry had eaten the rubber earpieces (Yum! Earwax! Hmm), and the drawer where they were kept was full of mouse poo. DD2 also reported seeing one in the playroom, clambering amongst the boardgames. While I can just about tolerate them if they stay in the loft, once they move downstairs the gloves come off. Angry Jog was nice, though although silent

We are finally about to watch Gone Girl, as apparently it's available on Virgin this week. I have had my fingers in my ears all day, because DS has seen it already and keeps threatening to reveal the end of the film, unless I make him hot drinks, do his chores etc. Little rat.

hattymattie · 09/02/2015 06:54

Gosh Auriga, MI and MI's sister - much strength to you allThanks Thanks .

CV - I think the mice in the drawer would have sent me over the edge.

Right - off to wash and then get this tip sorted.

Rosebag · 09/02/2015 11:49

Glad the MU was good!

MI that does sound a bit grim, but a few problems are inevitable until your DM's care becomes routine, and she can do things for herself, surely. Molly's advice sounds just the thing. Lots of love to you and yours Flowers

Similarly to Auriga…so sorry for the troubles with your sisters and your DM's forgetfulness. Flowers

Have passed a homework saturated weekend, (although me and DH did manage to go out both Sat and Sun night…) particularly with poor DD who was sickening, but insisted on going shopping with friends, characteristically underdressed in freezing weather. She is now in bed, having thrown up at 2am with a headache, fever and is sneezing fit to bust. It's a good few years since I've been up with a vomiting child. I'm knackered. She keeps sending me texts from her room including, "Can you come and put my hair up in a scrunchie?" Confused

I have taken the opportunity of being stuck at home to bite the bullet and join Slimming World online. It's time, Crepeys, it's time. I was Shock Shock Shock at my actual weight (bought a scales). I'll need loads of support to stick to it….

Right, DD has just texted…"Can you come and empty my bin?" Oh feck…where's the cake… Grin

bigTillyMint · 09/02/2015 13:11

MI and Auriga, sending you positive vibes. And you Rose.

I have not got on the scales for over a year. I feel unburdened. And fatGrin
