Here you go...

I need wine administered intravenously, at high volume.

Lesson didn't go well. Spent too much time at the warm up (talking about clothes), and didn't actually get to the learning part (comparatives and superlatives). It was supposed to be laying the foundations for my summative assessment (scary observation) next week, so I've got some remedial work to do.

On the plus side, I got three more marvellous garments from the charity shop. All jumpers, all seemingly brand new. One red M&S crew neck in fine red merino, one cobalt blue wool cardi, and one lovely Jigsaw blue/purple v neck in wool, silk and cashmere. £20 the lot!

Headache still very much in evidence, despite arrival of AF. And despite ingestion of 400mg ibuprofen on a regular basis. It's now on the right, through my eye and kind of in the back of my mouth. Maybe it's sinuses?

In Oyster news, I just use my debit card now. Costs the same, I believe, and never runs out!

I'm on the train... Got a bit over engrossed in filing and when I wanted a lift to the station, dh and dd2 (the sick ones at home disrupting my day) had both fallen asleep, so I'm later than expected. See you before 630 though.

I may have a bevvy on the train. The man just said there's a trollleeeeWine

beachyhead · 06/02/2015 17:53

It is the same pub as before, isn't it? Except downstairs not upstairs?

bigTillyMint · 06/02/2015 17:54

Yep! I'm on the bus now!

herbaceous · 06/02/2015 18:08

Leaving shortly. I shall be dressed entirely in charity shop garb.

CointreauVersial · 06/02/2015 18:33

Missed my intended train Angry but another one along in 10 minutes or so. ETA 7.40pm

QueenQueenie · 06/02/2015 18:35

Meet Up Crepeys, I'm truly sorry but I'm not coming out to play this evening. I had my day all planned out but a meeting this afternoon that was meant to take me an hour ended up taking three and I've just got home to poor neglected ddog and teenagers. I just can't turn straight round and head out again - am too knackered. Really hope you all have fun and have a large glass of red for me. If my crying off means a shortage of funds just let me know and I'll happily stump up.

cremolafoam · 06/02/2015 19:01

I made my train too.....only to realise as it pulled away that I was on the wrong one. Doh. Luckily I was able to make a quick switcheroo at Clapham Junction, so no harm done, but jeez, what is it with me and trains at the moment?

Lovely evening, crepesters; hope you all have a great weekend.

Blackduck · 07/02/2015 08:15

CV what is it with you and trains :)
Sorry to have missed it last night, but Stewart Lee was well worth it....

There was an awful lot of drinks-tossing last night, wasn't there? And ketchup. Grin

hattymattie · 07/02/2015 09:30

Please elaborate for those of us who were not present ...

I didn't even realise there was ketchup until I saw Stropps had been anointed with it....

Lovely food there, just right.

Got home at quarter to one, am feeling delicate, but not much planned for today luckily.

NUFC69 · 07/02/2015 09:58

Glad to hear that the MU went well, but someone must spill the beans re the ketchup and wine, please.

BTM, thanks for the advice re my Samsung 3 - I will endeavour to remove some of the useless apps which I foolishly put on.

Stropps, good to hear about DD's exam result - I hope it will encourage her (and you!).

BD, well done on your audit - that's a very impressive result.

Herbs, we all have ups and downs, just refocus. I am very impressed with your charity shop finds; whenever I go in they just seem full of rubbish, although I do sometimes pick up books.

You may remember the on-going saga of DH's hiatus hernia; yesterday he went to see the consultant again (he has been trying different medication over the last few months with no change). The consultant has now said that surgery is not the answer and referred DH to the cardiologist. This despite DH doing stress tests last August which they said were ok (consultant asked who had done the tests, ie doctor or technician because he thought that DH should have been able to do more because of his fitness levels). DH is feeling very fed up and feels that he has wasted 15 months and got nowhere at all.

While we were in the Health Centre I met an old friend who I haven't seen for several years; she had a tumour removed from her duodenum in December and part of her tongue removed because of pre-cancerous cells. It makes my aches and pains seem very minor.

It's a glorious day here - bright sunshine but very cold, there has been a thick frost. I think we will go out for a walk this afternoon to take advantage of the sunshine such as it is.

Oh, MI, how is your DM doing and is anything at all resolved?

herbaceous · 07/02/2015 10:16

Lovely lovely evening with my lovely lovely crepeys. Headache STILL here, now mixed in with mild hangover. JOY.

And I've got to drive Mad Brother up to see Aged Parents, and have mildly awkward day. Still, looking forward to my first evening in with DP, Wolf Hall and some more wine.

For those mystified by talk of tossing, it was just that due to over-enthusiastic hand gestures lots of drink, and ketchup, got spilled. Red wine on to me, water on to CV and Mrs S, ketchup on to Stropps, and other drinks elsewhere...

motherinferior · 07/02/2015 11:25

Lovely to see you all (I realise I tried the touch-in thing to renew myself last night. Long story. Oh well, that's two (2, ii) penalty fares incurred. I was at that point completely sober too.)

NU, mum is back at home. Carer, who is apparently nice, coming twice a day and possibly more. DSis there till weekend. Both parents being totally impossible. That's the short version Grin- thank you to everyone who listened to the long one last night!

hattymattie · 07/02/2015 11:30

Rudy - that is really sweet. Let's see if we can figure something out.

Mrs S - I see you got your bit in on the LaQueen threadGrin .

Usually I am always the one who knocks stuff over - glad that hear all the crepeys made a joint effort.

Herbs - don't know how you cope with headache plus hangover. Obviously I'm a wimp!

cremolafoam · 07/02/2015 11:56

Morning delicate and non delicate crepeys. Sounds like a good night was had by all.
We had fish and chips and a catchup on netflix.
Today I am sorting papers that dmum has dug out of an ancient filing cabinet. There is a lock of my hair from 1970 and several music Festival programmes from my competitive singing days! Also school bills and a couple of photos in which I am channelling DanaGrin
