Please help ladies, need your suggestions for best high St mascara. Need a new one tomorrow but January is a tight month before payday so if I could not spend £20++ then that would be really helpful.

I have tried maybeline in the pink tube - hate it and boots natural collection -ditto.

Any loreal, max factor etc mascara fans out there? Please help me, I would really appreciate it.

I have quite watery eyes so I'm quite limited to waterproof ones that don't smudge.

I tried all the 'tube' ones that are always recommended on here and didn't really like them. They didn't budge but weren't actually very lengthening or voluminous.

I've been using a revlon one for a while now which I really like. They are usually on 2 for £10 in Boots. I also don't like plastic wands, I like a proper fat brush!

Ps Garnier do a good waterproof mascara remover, it is one of the split ones that you have to shake. Half clear, half purple. But it specifically says on the bottle that it's non greasy and it is really gentle and thorough. It is usually on special in superdrug.

I've used any old waterproof (REALLY stupidly sensitive eyes) one in the past- whatever came along from Maybelline to Lancome but I was given some Chanel inimitable for xmas. Oh my. It is divine and worth every penny!

Hullabalooey · 17/01/2015 18:45

Another Max Factor 2000 calorie user. I can't use ones with the filament bits due to wearing contact lenses so all those lash extender ones tend to flake into my eyes and irritate - resulting in panda eyes from the rubbing!

RaspberryBeret34 · 17/01/2015 21:20

L'oreal beauty tubes is my favourite as all others (even waterproof) just smudge off. It forms little plastic tubes around your eyelashes then you just remove it with warm water (I hold a soft wet cloth against my eyes for a few secs then wipe off) and as it all comes off in big clumps, you don't get any panda eyes the next day.

Botanicbaby · 17/01/2015 21:26

Max Factor 2000 calorie - the curved brush is my new favourite despite always going for the straight brush for years. Both fabulous though.

Cantbelievethisishappening · 17/01/2015 22:14

Max Factor Masterpiece is fab. I am really fussy over mascara. Have been using it for ages and won't use anything else. Love it

YourMaNoBraBackOfMyCar · 18/01/2015 04:34

L'Oreal Million, benefit They're real or that one in a big yellow tube (maybelline?) I usually swing between these 3 but I save the benefit one for nighttime. Sometimes I've gone to bed with it still on (wrist slapped many times) and in the morning it still looked perfect. Blush I read on here that you can use neat baby shampoo in an emergency so I tried it and all was removed in one slow but firm swipe with the edge of a flannel.

The shittest one ever is the basicish Clinique one. Took 6-7 coats to even look like I'd tried putting mascara on. Not happy Clinique. Not happy.

bumbleandbumble · 18/01/2015 10:21

max factor masterpiece, high definition.

maybelline full and soft waterproof- if I want longer lasting

bumbleandbumble · 18/01/2015 10:26

I hate benefit "they are real" way too clumpy for me. I prefer definition/length over volume.

Follyfoot · 18/01/2015 10:33

Another vote for the No. 7 one in the gold tube. It doesnt shift with rain, tears, sweat, sea, rubbing or anything else I've found yet. Brilliantly easy to remove with a warm flannel too. And its a good mascara too - my lashes are really short but even my Mum (who is in her 80s) asked which mascara I was wearing as they looked so long...

Taffeta · 18/01/2015 13:42

Max Factor Masterpiece, been wearing it years! Glad to see it mentioned so many times Smile

clary · 18/01/2015 15:29

Thanks for this thread ladies, gonna buy some Max Factor Masterpiece now, seen it for less than £6 on ebay, got to be worth it :)

hollyisalovelyname · 18/01/2015 15:37

I got a sample from Chanel - Le Volume de Chanel - a bit clumpy but amazing and really black.

hollyisalovelyname · 18/01/2015 15:38

I didn't find Masterpiece that great tbh

hoochymama1 · 18/01/2015 18:19

Another vote for chanel, I have one that I bought 18 months ago Blush still going strong.
I find Johnsons baby lotion good for getting makeup off, and it smells yummySmile

LizzieVereker · 18/01/2015 20:03

I have tried every mascara on Earth, I am obsessed with finding "the" mascara, have tried cheapies right up to Chanel. Spent a fortune. I like no clumps, no smudging, and lots of added length and lift.

In my humble but very research based opinion, the very best mascara is...drum roll... Somewhat unbelievably... Rimmel Extra Super Lash. Knocks Benefit, Clinique etc into a cocked, clump free hat.

Needanewphone11 · 18/01/2015 20:36

I am still in awe of the Maxfactor one I got from DH for Christmas. It is actually amazing.

Needanewphone11 · 18/01/2015 20:37

And I have tried EVERYTHING. I feel I have stumbled upon magic.

TheCowThatLaughs · 18/01/2015 21:40

Which one was it, needanewphone?

cerealqueen · 19/01/2015 00:40

Luckystart82 Are you me, I love that mascara, it goes on lovely and stays on - this from a from waterproof and nothing else gal!

I also use vaseline to take it off, with a baby wipe!

OnlyLovers · 19/01/2015 09:45

Watching with interest but feeling a bit overwhelmed by all these options!

Mascara always clumps on me, whichever one I use. I tend to go for the Maybelline ones in the blue tube –it's quite good bar the clumping and is always on offer in Boots.

Eye make-up remover: Body Shop waterproof one. It's AWESOME and I have tried all manner from Simple to Dermalogica to REN to Clinique.

hollyisalovelyname · 19/01/2015 14:22

Vaseline makes my vision cloudy if I use it to remove mascara.
