Hate shaving, doing it wrong?!

Help me oh wise ones.

I use a four bladed disposable razor. Usually soak in bath and then shave. Shave up my legs not down. Wet shave with soap and next day I have bumpy legs. And stubble by morning.

As for lady garden. Again shave up the way. Again in bath when finished. As long as hair is a little long, no problems. But then I can't shave again for about four days or so. Too painful.

What am I doing wrong?

I only shave my legs so can only comment on that bit but I would say stop using soap as it dries out the skin, Try a sensitive shaving foam.
Might help to avoid using products/lotions on the shaved areas for 12 hours after. No expert though so hopefully others can advise too!

I find exfoliating really helps. A much smoother shave. Using soap will only dry your skin out. If you don't have any shaving cream handy, a moistrising hair conditioner works well too.

My shins react badly to shaving, but I rub some Aveeno bath oil on them after shaving, leave it for a minute or so before rinsing and that makes a huge difference!

Use hair conditioner or shaving foam not soap. Change razor regularly to ensure sharp. Go over each area only once, don't keep dragging razor over same area. Moisturise after.
