Easter Saturday wedding

I never usually post looking for wedding clothes advice but we have a wedding coming up on 4 April and I am a bit lost for inspiration tbh.

I am pale skinned and love to wear tights etc and preferably a dress with sleeves as it most likely will be cold.

It will not be a 'typical' wedding dress code as in strappy dresses and pashminas as the bride and groom are both in creative fields. I am imagining lots of glamorous arty types wafting about.

I am 45, 5ft 9 size 12. I don't do crazy high heels but moderate ones can be tolerated.

I am interested in suggestions of the sort of thing you would go with as opposed to actual dresses etc

Help me to look the part - please Grin

There's been lots of tulle skirt threads on here recently and they look really nice. With a nice silk top/blouse tucked in? or is tulle too bridey for one to wear to a wedding? doesn't have to be white though.... maybe nude?

This kind of thing

I got married on easter Saturday two years ago. Our female guests mainly wore knee length dresses from Whistles, Ted Baker, Coast, Phase Eight with tights, nice court shoes and (it was cold, not that I felt it!) fur jackets and nice coats.
They were smart and simple and elegant.

Thanks flux. That is a very nice look. I probably ought to have said in my op that I tend towards apple shape so anything pleated or tucked in is a bit of a no no for me. Unless I magically lose a stone between now and then....

I like the idea of something unusual but don't want to stray into 'Krrrrazy old aunt ' territory (I am not an aunt and am roughly the same age as the couple )

Thanks

I would go with a simple top very plain and then an ostrich feather skirt (seriously!) mid heels but all in the same shade, maybe blush pink. Cashmere jumper over the top maybe?

Thanks candycane. I love the idea of an elegant knee length dress but struggle how to finish it off, jacket or coat? Etc

Oh sorry just seen your update, how about a plain straight cut shift dress from COS, with a statement necklace from J Crew. Always looks great I think snd covers mid secton.

Nancy now you are talking! Where would one find an ostrich feather skirt. And more importantly am I too 'mutton dressed as lamb' for one?

I have red hair so perhaps need a bit more colour than blush as I can look very drained. But I like your direction
