Im a new mum who's just realised that an umbrella is a luxury I won't have whilst I have a buggy to push! So need a coat with a hood. Needs to be knee length/ mid thigh to cover my yucky thighs and flattering to my pear shape. Have seen the sea salt 'janelle' coat but wander whether it will suit me given the pear shape? I'm a size 12. Thanks!

Seasalt Plant Hunter is a bit shorter than Janelle and fairly roomy in the lower bit so it would be flatttering for a pear shape

Is this one any good?

I've just got a regatta landbreak one. £40 in the sale at debenhams or sports direct and some sellers on ebay have them for just under. I wanted the target dry one but dont really have that much spare cash at the moment. Anyway the regatta is completely waterproof, hood stays up and keeps the rain off my face even when my hairs in a messy bun, pulls in at the waist and is knee length on me at 5'1. Has kept me lovely and cosy on the school run and a walk today even without hat, scarf and gloves. Im also a size 12 pear, the 12 fits but is a little tight on my lower half, using it as incentive to try and drop a bit of weight though!!

My only slight disappointment is that I wanted navy or khaki and this is only available in black, yellow or purple.... I went for black! Would link but dont know how to on tablet

You need one of these:

Seriously, though, this is nice from White Stuff. Mum has it (she's young and trendy so don't worry!). 8,10 and 12 still available on their site. It comes up neat...well, a 10 is a 10, iyswim...you'd need a size up if you want to wear thick woollens, I'd say:

Lol Leo! Thanks for all the suggestions. Liking the White stuff One particularly -just need to think about the sizing with my post pregnancy belly if it's a bit on the tight side!

strawberrysplit thank u so much for sharing that regatta landbreak jacket with us, I ordered the Targetdry Georgia and the Regatta one both from Amazon and actually prefer the Regatta. It fits better, more slimming and warm, plus the material is not as stiff as the Targetdry one. Would never have thought to look at the Regatta one on my own, lovely jacket and Amazon has them on sale too, such good value Smile

strawberrysplit · 14/01/2015 14:33

I'm glad you like it! Smile

rosyrose79 · 14/01/2015 16:19

yes its incredibly difficult to find a non frumpy parka that's properly waterproof as well!
