Split back top, WTF

Take a nice plain long sleeved top ( weirdly hard to find basic ) and then cut all the way up the back and ruin it....why?

It's January, it's cold why would I buy a top with a split back.
What the hell do I wear underneath, I don't want to show my winter white and over 40 back or my greying bra strap.

And while I am on a rant....

Just about every dress with sleeves this season was made with cheap, scratchy lace panels and/or sleeves.

Kate Middleton wore one dress and now its all the High Street can do.

I like that style. I have a navy short sleeved top that is longer at the back and is split too, so it looks almost plain boxy t-shirt shaped at the front and more interesting from behind. I wear a vest underneath in grey or white.

With you on the lace though - invariably looks cheap.

I've been trying to find one of these tops! Where are yours from or where have you seen them?

They look great with a nice t back bra though. I have one from H &M in black microfibre that has beading along the t part.

I too have been trying to find more of these tops! I am in the early pregnancy stage where I don't really look pregnant yet, just as though I have put on a bit of weight and so these are great with a long vest top underneath!

Where are you finding them all?!

This is pretty identical in shape to mine except mine is a thicker crepe fabric and navy blue. I got mine from my local beauty salon that also sells cheap Chinese clothing and knock-off bags

I also get the rage when I see a pretty dress only to discover it is backless . How many at a size 12/14 or 16 can go braless?? Not me at a 30FF that's for sure .
