Do you wear more comfy clothes when you get home

Just wondering as I have started changing into my fleecy pyjamas when I get home, I find it saves my clothes from getting creased and covered in cat hairs. However, someone at work told me the other day that her daughter accused her of letting herself go because she changed into her jamas once she got home, but I have heard of many people that do this.

Oh hell yes! Fleecy pjs on the moment I walk through the door! I don't get in until 8.30 after a 12 hour shift so don't feel I'm being unreasonable at all Grin

ScandiS · 10/01/2015 19:07

Smile I do! Maybe not necessarily pj's but something comfy like leggings and a massive jumper. I take my contacts out and put on glasses, put my hair up in a bun (it's so much more comfortable). I stop myself at washing of my makeup because I am a tad conscious of letting myself go too much infrint of my other half...

mowglik · 10/01/2015 19:08

When I was working the first thing I used to do was change into my pyjama bottoms when I got home! I wouldn't change the top but it feels more comfortable to lounge around in soft bottoms.

Also if you have cats it def helps I used to change my black tops too

Tbh most people I know do this!

Lovelydiscusfish · 10/01/2015 19:09

Jamas usually. Failing that often leggings and big jumper. Always take my bra off very shortly after I get in!

greenpesto · 10/01/2015 19:09

I do, it means my 'going out clothes' last longer and PJs/loungewear are just more comfortable. I wear PJs if I don't think anyone will see me, but things like jogging bottoms if I know family might pop around. I do it with the dc as well, they always change out of uniform at home and have comfortable things to wear indoors.

aoife24 · 10/01/2015 19:11

Me too, usually pajamas. Partly to be comfy and shake off the day but also with 2 cats I don't want my clothes covered in hair.

Suzietwo · 10/01/2015 19:11

Yes

I also take off my jewellery and recently progressed to having to remove my make up the minute I step in the door!

notquitenormal · 10/01/2015 19:12

I don't get in my jammies, but sometimes put trackie bottoms and a t-shirt on.
However, first thing I do when I get inlike I do it in the hallwayis take my tights off and put long socks on.

Life's too short to be uncomfortable.

amigababy · 10/01/2015 19:17

I change into yoga pants , actually do some yoga. And then tend to stay in them till bedtime.

HollyBdenum · 10/01/2015 19:18

No. I don't buy clothes if they aren't comfy (apart from formal evening wear) so there wouldn't be much point.

GaryBaldy · 10/01/2015 19:18

Yes I came in from work today, took my suit off and put a cardi and jeans on, removed my make up and jewellery and put on my fluffy slippers.

scarletforya · 10/01/2015 19:19

Yes, always. I take off my outdoor shoes and change into a comfy loose top, soft leggings and take off my bra!

I don't like to wear clothes I've worn to work at home as I work in a childcare setting, so I take off each set when I get home and put them in the wash basket. I also dettol & hot water my work shoes and leave them at the door.

I don't want to bring viruses and bacteria into my house! I also like to be comfy!

I think wearing

meglet · 10/01/2015 19:20

always change into pj's or track parts.

Ludways · 10/01/2015 19:22

I don't get into PJ's but I do change into more comfortable clothes. I also change out of my PJ's as soon as I get out of bed.

ouryve · 10/01/2015 19:22

Good grief, yes. Not pyjamas, but joggers and a cheaper or older top that won't make me cry when DS2 wipes baked beans or gravy all over it.

JethroTull · 10/01/2015 19:27

Hell yes. Joggers, hoodie & big socks.

vindscreenviper · 10/01/2015 19:27

I often change after I have tucked the DC up, I can't remember when this became a thing, but not pj's though, soft leggings or yoga pants plus t shirt.

And I always take my bra off-lovely Grin

youngestisapyscho · 10/01/2015 19:27

Soon as I'm home... Pj bottoms on, bra off!

Thegentlemonkey · 10/01/2015 19:28

Does anyone have a recommendation for joggers to change into that are comfortable but also don't make you look too much like you're about to go for a workout/are completely letting yourself go?! I keep my PJs for sleeping in but would like something comfier than jeans in the evening....

BumWad · 10/01/2015 19:28

Yep!

Harem trousers/joggers/leggings with a vest or t shirt for me and massive socks.

Bliss

Trills · 10/01/2015 19:28

What are you all wearing all day that is so uncomfortable?

Hopefully · 10/01/2015 19:29

TBH I do feel slightly 'let herself go' if I put pyjamas on as soon as I get home, but I quite often change into loungewear (cringe) if I know I'm not going anywhere for the rest of the day. I do like a good bit of loungewear.

I shall go and sit in the pretentious wankers' corner now.

pussinboots61 · 10/01/2015 19:33

Thanks for your replies. I don't wear uncomfortable clothes in the day time, I just want them to keep decent for longer and I find they do when I change out of them once I am home. I don't wear my PJs for bed, I change into a nightie which I prefer to sleep in.

Just wondering about summer, my PJs will be too hot then. Last summer I just kept my day clothes on, is there anything cooler to wear inside then?

I get changed into pj bottoms. Who cares about letting themselves go? Youu are st home forgoodness sake!!!! Personally, this helps me to relax and put work away iykwim!

echt · 10/01/2015 19:58

I teach, and quite a lot of what I wear, while not uncomfortable, would not be my first choice for wearing round the house. Definitely bra off the minute I get throughout the door. One of the pleasures of the long summer holiday has been the not wearing of a bra.

For the rest, loose-fitting trousers/pants, tops, cardie in winter. Definitely change shoes, and off with tights.
