Do you wear more comfy clothes when you get home

Just wondering as I have started changing into my fleecy pyjamas when I get home, I find it saves my clothes from getting creased and covered in cat hairs. However, someone at work told me the other day that her daughter accused her of letting herself go because she changed into her jamas once she got home, but I have heard of many people that do this.

Yy perfect thread for sharing loungewear sources and tips surely?

I judge those who judge those who change into pjs etc when at home. Unless the thought of women whipping off their bras and doing commando lunges in comfy pj bottoms intimidates them, then why would they feel the need to judge? Weird.

Coumarin · 11/01/2015 22:47

and as for anyone not wanting to take off make up or put comfy clothes because of a DH/P, if he would really notice and be bothered then maybe it's him that needs changing not your trousers.

Coumarin · 11/01/2015 22:49

(Not referring to any particular poster btw. Just a general thought.)

pussinboots61 · 11/01/2015 22:55

Do you put pyjamas or lounge wear on during the day if you are off work and staying at home?

Oh yes! When I first got with DH he was slightly bemused by my ' casuals'

After dinner its Bath and face cleaned of makeup, Yoga trews, vest, slippers and very fluffy dressing gown. Hair up in high pony tail.

DS is certainly my boy and likes to put a pair of soft joggers on if he's had jeans or chinos on for the day.

Bliss.

KatoPotato · 11/01/2015 22:58

WRT days off, I tend to wear softer clothes, I think it's just work tailoring that needs removing!

Skinny jeans can GTF by dinner time to though.

raspberrywhitechocolate · 11/01/2015 23:07

Depends on the day for me - often find myself in pyjama bottoms but still in my work shirt Blush never take my contacts out until I'm getting into bed though. It's a self-consciousness thing I inherited from my mum that I wish I could get over because I love my glasses but they (wrongly) symbolise letting myself go and being a bit lazy and pyjama-y to me.

KatoPotato · 11/01/2015 23:09

Agree about contact lenses, and you can't lie on the sofa with your head on a cushion with glasses on!

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 11/01/2015 23:35

That's exactly what glasses do to me, I think because I only wear them to get to the bathroom to put my lenses in, which is before I get dressed every morning, I associate them with not being ready to leave the house. I hate glasses full stop though, I would wear contacts 100% of the time if I could.

DarylDixonsDarlin · 11/01/2015 23:38

I am a SAHM, sometimes come home after doing school drop off and change into house clothes, leggings and an old top, if I will be doing housework, or playdoh/anything vaguely messy with toddler. Then change back into real clothes to go out later in the day. No point ruining my good clothes, its taken me til my 3rd child to learn that lesson!

At weekends I usually do any jobs before dressing, then shower/dress and stay in the clothes all day. Might occasionally put pj trousers on when the DC get bathed and changed for bed in the winter, not unknown for me to wear just a vest and pants in the summer! Blush

Contact lenses do stay in right up until bedtime, as I find I feel undressed without them (dislike glasses).

annabanana19 · 12/01/2015 07:07

Trackies and top and hoody for me.

Lonelynessie · 12/01/2015 16:05

Yep, first thing I do is change in to comfy clothes. I've been know to have my bra off before I have taken off my shoes Grin

Petal02 · 12/01/2015 16:13

I'm in smart office-wear all day, so when I get home I change into lounge-wear; nice yoga pants with a H&M vest/tshirt. But I always make sure it's "nice" lounge wear, so that I don't look or feel like I've let myself go. I always wear matching underwear (you never know when you might end up in A&E) and wear make-up all the time (apart from when I go to bed) so I feel quite OK round the house, just 'softer.'

squoosh · 12/01/2015 16:17

Fist thing I do when I get in the door is change into something comfy. Nice yoga pants and a hoodie usually.

Luciferbox · 12/01/2015 16:17

Damn right. I've just got in and my jiggers and tshirt will be on ASAP. I'm also pregnant so I'm kinda busting out of my work clothes, my belly needs to be free!!

squoosh · 12/01/2015 16:18

Bra stays on though, being bra-less is definitely not my idea of comfortable.

GaryShitpeas · 12/01/2015 16:24

Ha ha I always do

Joggers and a hoody (and sometimes a dressing gown ??)

Thurlow · 12/01/2015 16:29

No, not often. I don't really have time to, for one - as soon as I get in its bath time, bedtime, dinner, and by then it's getting on for 8.30 or later so I can't see the point of changing just for an hour and a half or so.

I also don't really own any 'comfy' clothing like everyone is talking about. I have PJ trousers but I hate getting into bed wearing anything I've been wearing, I have to change clothes immediately before getting into bed. So I have work clothes, and casual clothes, but no yoga pants, hoodies etc.

Starting to suspect this makes me quite weird...

wobblebobblehat · 12/01/2015 16:38

Good god yes!

Straight in the shower and into comfy jeans and fleecy top or pjs if it's late...

Im actually really surprised by the number of bras that come off in the evening! lol..

maybe you are all smaller than me (F cup Envy ) but I would worry about the sag factor if I wandered around without a bra all evening

Naicecuppatea · 12/01/2015 16:53

When I get back in the evening after a day of work I have a shower/bath first and change into my PJs. This is even though I do not wear formal clothes for work. It's just the act of washing the day off and getting comfy and warm that I like.

If I am at home during the day and I know I won't be going out I'll wear my version of 'loungewear' (but usually with a bra if it's daytime!). I also hope wearing comfy trousers will spur me to do a bit of pilates or an exercise DVD.

HolyTerror · 12/01/2015 16:55

Yes, someone explain the bras! It would never even occur to me to take mine off when I got in. but then, I'm not a post-work clothes-changer, either. Still wondering if I choose unusually comfortable work clothes compared to the people on this thread, though! Honestly, I never even knew it was something people did.

(I came home from work at three today and other than my shoes, I'm still wearing what I put on this morning - wool trousers, a wrap-around top over a camisole and a big amber necklace. )

goodasitgets · 12/01/2015 17:57

Yes because I wear a uniform. Currently wearing long Victoria's Secret t shirt, no bra (34K, all bras dig in after sitting for 10hrs!) and leggings with knee high socks

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 12/01/2015 18:01

The concept of being comfier without a bra than with is a strange one to me too.
