I have tried so many liners....but they always seem to run and I look rubbish within a couple of hours of applying.

I'm not keen on ones you have to apply with a pen or a brush, just a brilliant pencil that stays put on upper or lower lids. It's my make-up holy grail Grin

I love NARS Larger Than Life eyeliner in Night Clubbing ( linky ). It's got very subtle flecks of gold through it which make it a bit different but they have bog standard black as well. Excellent staying power, even on the water line.

For me the best pencils are the Urban Decay 24/7 ones.

They're incredibly long lasting and pigmented. Once they're on they simply don't budge. Plus the range of colours is incredible.

The black one is called Perversion.

I've used the Rimmel Scandaleyes kohl pencil for a few years now. Stays put all day, lasts for ages and very easy to use. You do have to sharpen quite frequently though!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 08/01/2015 18:07

Lancome pencils are v good.

Macloveswill · 08/01/2015 18:15

Ooh some good ones to try....only one I've tried from the suggestions so far is Lancôme, but even that was quite a few years ago. Thanks everyone, some shopping is in order GrinGrin

Avon, and or smash box very good. They are the twisty ones so no need to sharpen.

Macloveswill · 09/01/2015 16:42

Thanks for all your suggestions, it really is much appreciated.

So for starters, I've ordered the Nars and the Urban Decay ones. I managed to find both online with free delivery, so will try them out when they arrive and let you know my verdict. Fingers crossed one of them is my saviour!

Bourjois. I generally use expensive stuff but except for eyeliner. For liquid, Rimmel is great, on a par with Dior for a third of the price.

Avon £6 glimmersticks are brilliant. You can usually get them on eBay for £2 or £3. No sharpening, gentle to use. Stays all day.

Eyeliner is my makeup holy grail too. My best buys so far are Rimmel Exaggerate (push up pencil type with a smudger on the end) and Laura Mercier Tightliner which you apply with an angled brush. The worst by far is Benefit's They're Real.

maybemyrtle · 09/01/2015 17:57

Just adding Gosh Velvet Touch (v similar to UD 24/7s but cheaper). If absolutely everything smudges, look at how much eye cream - excess oil around your eyes will make any eyeliner or mascara shift. I think you can get a product that you apply after eyeliner to seal it, like lipcote but for eyes. Can't remember who makes it though...maybe Illamasqua??

how much eye cream you're using...
