What socks with brogues

[Rojak]

Have just bought some skinny work ankle trousers to wear with leather brogues for work (inspired by Cos).

But can't work out what to wear socks-wise?

Brogues are burgundy, trousers are black and black socks just look wrong?

I'd wear black or charcoal grey. I sometimes wear opaque tights under my trousers as they're more streamlined and a bit softer looking than actual socks.

Bottle green?

No socks.

Pop socks

no socks!

I never wear socks with mine.
