Just that really.

Just had a baby and I am planning on stepping it up a little so I don’t look so haggard all the time! Today I bought some new makeup as a treat and to inspire me in my efforts. I bought:

Hourglass Ambient Lighting lush in Dim Fusion
Bobbie Brown Long Wear Cream Shadow Stick
Chanel Illusion D’ombre in New Moon
Urban Decay Naked palette in Basics
Burberry Lip Glow Balm in Pink Azalea
Maybelline the colossal volum’ express
Benefit The Pore fessional -
Maybelline BaybyLips in Cherry Me

I need to buy a new foundation (thinking Chanel vitalumiere aqua) but I need to finish up the one I am currently using first (YSL).

Also planning on doing my nails more often - normally I just do a coat of OPI Start to finish clear polish and I colour on my toes (normally a red or grey). I find my nails hard to keep up and I hate the look of chipped polish on fingers so I rarely use colour on them but today I bought:
Essie: Chinchilly
Barry M: Mushroom
Revlon Colorstay Gel Envy: No colour name on bottle but its a light pink.

Bianca - i think we might be makeup twins Grin

MrsMyrtleMarple · 04/01/2015 20:17

Benefit Porefessional
YSL Touché éclat foundation
Collection concealer, under eyes
Nothing on brows as have them threaded and dyed at Shavata
NYX eyeshadow primer
Bobbi Brown taupe eye shadows
Bobbi Brown eyeliner gel in sepia ink or khaki
Benefit They're Real mascara. Currently using Lancôme Grandiose ( meh, won't buy it again. It smudges everywhere )
Nars Orgasm blusher
Chanel Les Beiges powder
Nars New Lover lip crayon

LikeSilver · 04/01/2015 20:25

On a daily basis I use:

  • Lancôme Teint Miracle foundation
  • Max Factor 2000 Calorie or Benefit They're Real mascara (sometimes find the Benefit one a bit dry if I have contact lenses in)
  • Benetint or Max Factor blush
  • Maybelline Fit pressed powder
  • Burts Bees tinted lip balm

If I'm dressing up to go out I'll add eyeshadow/eyeliner and lipstick/lipgloss. I'd love to have manicured nails but I'm sadly rubbish at doing them myself and don't have the time/cash to get them done regularly.

Skinheadmermaid · 04/01/2015 20:47

Normally;
Porefessional primer
Body shop moisturising foundation (one of the few that doesn't irritate my sensitive skin)
Collection concealer
Maybelline stay matte power
Sleek blusher in rose gold or NYC cream blush
Soap and Glory glow all out powder
Soap and glory bright light eye shadow primer
eyeshadow- using urban decay naked basics two palette at the moment or MUA Elysium-love both of them!
Barry M liquid eyeliner
Benefit they're real mascara at the moment, but I need a new one.
Topshop Lipstick in bewitched or Seventeen in Rulebreaker
Brush and set my eyebrows with vasaline-don't fill them in as they're black and i'd look like Ernie from Sesame street.

I have very scarred skin from years of cystic acne on my chin and actual deep scars from a fight so I wear a lot of base. I'd love to just be able to slick on a bit of tinted moisturiser but i'm too self conscious-and as i've spent so long on my base I feel I might as well have a bit of fun with my eyes and lips.
If I have the gym later I might skip the eyeshadow and/or the eyeliner. In summer i wear a more fuchsia lipstick or just chapstick.

flux500 · 04/01/2015 20:57

Pooette · 04/01/2015 22:40

Base:

  • Smashbox primer
  • Bourjois CC cream in light beige (or Revlon Colourstay foundation if I'm going out)
  • Touche Eclat highlighter
  • No.7 concealer
(Also Nars illuminator in orgasm and Ultraglow light bronzer if I'm going out)

Eyes:

  • Loreal telescopic mascara
  • Rimmel eyeliner (or any cheapo kohl eye pencil)
  • I have loads of eye shadow palettes, but only use occasionally when going out)

Lips:
-Max Factor lipliner in spice

  • Clinique superbalm or chubby stick in various shades
Gadgettherobot · 04/01/2015 22:44

By Terry Touche Veloute concealer/eye brightener
No 7 tinted moisturiser
Nars orgasm blusher
Clinque loose powder
Chanel eyeshadow quadra in mystic eyes
Barry M eye pencil in brown
Elizabeth Arden Double Density mascara. This is the best mascara I have ever used, it is like wearing false eyelashes once you build it up, and yet it comes off easily and completely and doesn't smudge under your eyes during the day at all. Truly fabulous.
No 7 lipstick in some nude colour.
Revlon lip butter or Nars lipgloss in Corsica or Orgasm
Technic "high lights" highlighter (I think this is a very cheap - like £3 - version of the Benefit high beam one, it is really excellent)

If I am going out I use W7 prime magic camera ready primer (I think this is again a very cheap version - £4 - of the smash box one, it is truly fab), Clinque liquid foundation for extra coverage on some bits of my face, Rimmel glam eyes liquid eye liner, Chanel smoky eyes eyeshadow, elizabeth arden smoky eyes powder pencil in smoky black, Barry M dazzle dust in a variety of colours depending on outfit and Barry M champagne coloured pencil on the inner corner of my eyes to brighten them.

I also use a little bit rose hip oil under my moisturiser which isn't technically make up but gives an amazing glow so I sort of treat it as such.

Madaboutthrows · 04/01/2015 22:45

Estée Lauder foundation
Chanel eyeshadow
Benefit blusher- dandelion
Maybeline mascara and natural collection mascara
Superbalm by clinique

Madaboutthrows · 04/01/2015 22:46

Plus chanel les beiges powder

IHeartChristmasMoomies · 05/01/2015 04:01

I love expensive make up. Maternity leave was the death of me, I think I spent £500 on make up in about 3 months Blush.

At the moment, I wear daily:
MAC Face and Body foundation
Natural Collection face powder
Usually use Naked 3 pallette for eyes, sometimes my Neutral Illamasqua pallette
Whatever black mascara I have on the go (normally Maybelline)
I've just bought a new blusher by Bobbi Brown - Tawny I think?
Rimmel Kate Moss No 9 lipstick.

As you can imagine I have loads of make up, I'm not especially loyal to one brand. I would spend more on foundation than on anything else though.

LikeABadSethRogenMovie · 05/01/2015 04:06

Be very careful, if you're post pregnancy and looking tired, not to go too heavy handed. It can accentuate the dark shadows, rather than hide them.

butterfliesinmytummy · 05/01/2015 04:12

Dior BB eye cream (concealer)
Nars luminous powder foundation
Lancôme mascara
Lip gloss

I wear a lot more for meetings or nights out though!

LoadsaBlusher · 05/01/2015 08:05

Dior Star Foundation
Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed powder
Rimmel Bronzing Powder
MAC Desert Rose Blush
MUA Highlighter Powder

Rimmel Dark Brown Eyebrow Pencil
Urban Decay Naked Pallet
Rimmel Exaggerate Black Eyeliner
Pencil ( bottom lids )
Rimmel Exaggerate Liquid eyeliner ( top)
Rimmel Rockin Curves Mascara

MUA Bare Lipstick
or if not at work MAC Red tone lipsticks ( chop and change )

I wear full face of make up everyday

mewkins · 05/01/2015 14:03

Mineral foundation
L'OREAL concealer
Rimmel liquid eyeliner
Max factor mascara
Maybelline master smoky kohl
Rimmel eyebrow pencil
Lily lolo mineral blusher
Bourjois bronzer
Mua highlighter
If time, eyeshadow (bourjois or lily lolo)

I tend to just wear the same but smokier eyeshadow for special occasions. Very rarely wear anything other than vaselline on lips

HeyheyheyGoodbye · 05/01/2015 14:11

I don't wear it every day, but my 'everyday' makeup is:

Barbara Daly primer (new discovery)
Bare Minerals original powder foundation, and a bit of their powder concealer if necessary
Bare Minerals illuminating mineral veil
Borgouis rose de jaspe blusher
Benefit They're Real Mascara
Clinique Lip Perfector/Benebalm

HeyheyheyGoodbye · 05/01/2015 14:15

Oh no wait the lip perfector is Clarins, not Clinique. I always mix them up!

If I want a bit extra I'll use W7 In The Buff Eyeshadow Palette (Naked knock-off, dirt cheap and fantastic) and a lipstick: I like the Kate Moss Rimmel ones. I carry around a lip perfector, mini mascara/foundation with brush, and Benefit Fine One One for touch-ups :)

VenusRising · 05/01/2015 14:20

Your list sounds good to me, but you need

Concealer - under eye try clinique airbrush

And blusher. Try out bourjois for inexpensive ones which are perfect.

Also get an eyelash curler.

Congratulations btw

louwn · 05/01/2015 14:41

Chincilly is a fab shade - I love it for looking smart. I use estee lauder double wear foundation, clinique pore minimiser, rimmel concealer, soap and glory mascara, and various blushers/eyeshadows....really love a neutral smashbox eyeshadow trio I am using at the moment.

FairyPenguin · 05/01/2015 15:13

None. I moisturise my face and body, and use lip balm.

MrsMeow · 05/01/2015 16:21

On a normal work day I use:

MAC Studio Fix powder (I'll use Studio Fix foundation as well if going out)

Soap and Glory Kick Ass concealer

MAC paintpot in 'Painterly' as an eyeshadow primer

Smashbox or Urban Decay black eyeliner, both are really smudgeable but don't move once set

A neutral eyeshadow all over - my favourites are either one from the Benefit Smokin Eyes kit or one that I got from Poundworld/Poundland - whichever has got their own makeup range. Really impressed with it so far!

A grey or brown eyeshadow either Benefit pewter, a couple of Urban Decay 'Naked' ones or one from the MUA (Superdrug) Bourjouis alike eyeshadow trio

i've got a few mascaras on the go at the minute so am using either Smashbox Full Exposure, Clinique High Impact or a pound shop one from the range above - all are as good as each other

MAC blusher in Mocha

Soap and Glory 'Glow All Out' highlighter

Clinique or UD Naked lipgloss
