beautiful bedlinen recommendations?

Have been given some money to buy some new duvet covers/sheets, and it'd be nice to get something really lovely, that will last.

Any recommendations? Have always had plain white, but am considering branching out (and getting, for the first time ever, more than 2 sets!)

I love White Company, cotton sateen, Geneva. It is available with four different coloured trims, but mainly white. Washes well and feels luxurious.

That's lovely, but I don't think I could ever make it look nice! Do you know what I mean? It's lovely, but I think that the muted colours of the edges would look dirty in no time in our chaotic house...

Is White Company stuff generally good quality? Have heard SUCH mixed things about it. What about Soak and Sleep?

Soak and Sleep is lovely. The 600 count pillow cases and sheets are gorgeous, duvet covers lovely too but a bugger to iron so learning to embrace the wrinkles! It washes very well and feels wonderful. It depends if you want colourful, matching sets etc. though. Personally I like plain white or cream and natural fibres all the way. My favourite set is a cream linen one from M&S bought in their 70% off sale, gets nicer with each wash.

I buy quality bed linen in TK MAXX. At least 400 thread count for the cotton. Also got new deep deep sided fitted sheets so they fit properly once and for all and stop sliding off the mattress. They are excellent. Another best buy was a large 'bed throw' which dresses the bed beautifully especially when their bedding has been slept upon. Best quality u can afford means bed will always feel that bit more comfortable/luxurious.

Christy bed linen is lovely the sheets feel amazing to sleep on and are well coordinated with the sets

White Company stuff is good, and they often have offers. If you don't want white, Toast have nice things and currently have a sale on.

Costco bed linen is the best I have come across, and really good value. White Company comes second, but is a lot more expensive.

I looked inWhite Company the other day,and thougt their bed linen felt thin and cheap. Have had much cheaper and better quality from Out of Eden.

White Company has declined drastically in quality, imho. Overpriced tat.

Cologne and Cotton is far better. Soak and Sleep do top quality at unbeatable prices, too.

I just ordered a bedding bundle from Soak & Sleep. French linen, white with a grey edging. It includes a fitted sheet, duvet cover and two pillow cases and unlike lots of super king sets, the pillow cases are also super king size. Too often sets rob dog you on the pillow cases which is so annoying.

I'll have to look at Soak and Sleep as I always buy White Company. I love their Logan range.Supersoft cotton/flannel, very soft and warm.

Enrique could you tell me how the S&S linen feels - is it at all scratchy?

I have the soak and sleep 600tc cotton which is quite heavyweight but improving (softening) with washing/wearing - very good quality though

I love linen sheets/pillowcases/duvet covers from Society or Caravane. They are not meant to be ironed ie look fabulous straight out of the drier and back on the bed.

Am late to the thread but Zara Home bedding is lovely.

Holds up really well, very soft and they do some gorgeous prints and colours that are still grown up and make a nice change from plain white. I have some gorgeous muted grey paisley print bedding from there which I adore.

I don't think you can beat John Lewis, to be honest. I like their 400 thread Egyptian cotton - I don't do colours for bedding, it's all white. The easy care stuff is good- not the kind with polyester but the sort that is all cotton but isn't such a pain to iron.
