The 'c' word (cellulite)

OK, so is there anything that can really be done about the dreaded cellulite?

I'm slim and have had it on the fronts of my thighs since I was 23. I know I'm never going to be rid of it but is there anything that can make it better?

Has anyone had significant success in improving the appearance of cellulite without losing weight?

loads of water and fake tan definitely seem to help, but I always keep my thighs covered up :(

I rarely show my thighs victory - keep them covered in the summer and only get them out in the colder months in opaque tights with short skirts and shorts.

Interesting MrsW - about a year ago I was running regularly and did think maybe it was less apparent then but wasn't sure with hindsight whether it was my imagination. I've had a knee injury but now have the all clear to start training again gently so that's an added incentive to get going.

I was body brushing more than I do now too.

Definitely going to get back into the exercise and brush more.

Any other recommendations?

I use a massage tool (those balls on a handle) and have a good firm rub on the legs after a shower and lotion. It's helped a lot. The bumps sortof get a bit angry looking but it feels good - almost like it's "draining" the fat. It's partly caused by poor lymph drainage so my logic follows that massage must help to break it down!
I think exercise just makes the "pockets" smaller but not necessarily sorting out the real problem... The cell structure.

Ground Flax seed works and only costs a couple of £. Just a tablespoon or two a day sprinkled on porridge/smoothie or whatever else takes your fancy and it will appear gone in 2 weeks.

Unfortunately it is'nt' gone but flax seeds boost elastase I think it is that smooths the skin, so if you stop taking it it will reappear a couple of weeks after you stop.

I read about Flax seed today whilst Googling - I have porridge pretty much every day. I don't mind whether it's really gone - I just want to see it less Grin

Sounds worth a punt!

Will give the 'balls on a handle' a go to.

Agree about exercise.

For me, it looks worse when I've got higher body fat over muscle that isn't well toned.
