Spider - I love that sort of narrow, minimal coat. I have a grey wool one from Zara, this season, that looks like your coat, and I'm wearing it more than any of my other coats. However... It's mainly acrylic, so I wouldn't keep it as it may not wear will and won't be as warm as wool. If,however, that doesn't bother you, it's a great looking coat. Maybe ask your DH what the problemo is?

BelindaAllWorkedOut · 27/12/2014 16:55

Sorry, to clarify, your coat is mainly acrylic.

Spidergirl8 · 27/12/2014 16:57

Thanks Belinda, appreciate your view as you gave a great blog! Why doesn't acrylic wear well? Will it bobble?

Spidergirl8 · 27/12/2014 16:58

Have a great, not gave!

BelindaAllWorkedOut · 27/12/2014 17:30

thank you, Blush. Acrylic does often bobble, IME. Depends on the particular fabric. I also find it sometimes develops permanent creases. But, also, an acrylic coat just doesn't keep me warm like a wool / cashmere / alpaca etc one will. If you adore it, though, you can just pile on the Heattech and that solves the cold issue. Might not pill, either. However, for £100, I want wool as it performs better.

Spidergirl8 · 27/12/2014 17:39

Ah, I see. To be honest, living up North and the constant rain, wool sometimes not so practical. Also I get a bit wheezy with high wool content, so may work out.... £100 is a lot for me to spend though. I'm hopeful will be good for work and the weekend. Got some Paige jeans for £59 too, so plan to wear with them.
I just adore the red strip on inside, really seems to make it a bit different.

Greengardenpixie · 27/12/2014 20:07

Acrylic is definetly not as good as wool..but it will still have some warmth but wool is toasty imo. Nice coat though but i like something to keep my neck warm. The opening prevents you from being totally warm and keeps you drafty unless you have a scarf.

MakeMeWarmThisWinter · 27/12/2014 21:03

It's a v stylish coat, just not a warm winter one I think. So not if it's your main winter one but as an extra one it's lovely.

And yes ask your DH what his issue is with it! Then decide whether his opinion matters to you. I have a leopard fur coat that DH hates but I love so I just don't wear it when I'm out with him. Tasteless man Grin

Spidergirl8 · 27/12/2014 21:54

Thank you for encouragement! I have a Didriksons as my main winter staple, think this could be a good smart/going out for dinner/meetings at work one....

Oh, I might just keep it then Xmas Grin

Greengardenpixie · 27/12/2014 22:03

My dh can be like that...he hates heels so i only really wear them to work :) The reason he hates them is that he is about the same height, only slightly taller than me and it makes me taller than him. He has an issue with this!!! [ yeh stupid, i know]

Apatite1 · 27/12/2014 22:48

Garden I bought the celia bag, a jersey dress and a cotton top (for lounging around the house)

Greengardenpixie · 28/12/2014 00:06

Thats a lovely bag :) There jersey dresses are nice but sometimes their sizes are all over the place! I have my eye on a few woolly ones but going to take my chances and see if they are further reduced. If not and if it sells out..well, it wasnt meant to be!!! I do love some of their stuff though. I bought a cord dress at full price [ not seen it in the sale actually] and still havent worn it. It was in a whale cord material in a forest green colour. I end up buying things and forgetting i have got them!!!!

Greengardenpixie · 28/12/2014 00:08

ah!! found it...its not been reduced anyway and they only have it in a size 18.
