Effective and gentle eye make remover.

I'm currently using Clinique naturally eye make remover. It's ok. The oil based one made my eyes sore and weird little spots kept forming on the inside of my eye lids. It did do a good job of removing Mac waterproof mascara though.

So, any recommendations? I have oily lids and in the fight against looking like a panda, I use Nars eye primer and the above mentioned mascara.

I've been Garnier Micellar water and I think its excellent. Costs about 5 in Boots/Superdrug. I use it on a cotton pad and it dissolves everything with not very much work at all. Its very mild too, you can practically rub it right into your eyes and it doesn't sting.

L'Oreal micellar water is excellent, very mild and gentle but effective

msfreud · 22/12/2014 10:02

I like the Superdrug Vitamin E one, it's not oily at all but removes make up really well.

Lancôme bi-facil is my favourite repeat buy. Great stuff.

LakeFlyPie · 22/12/2014 10:12

I like the Simple one, v gentle. Currently have micellar water (not sure of the brand, was a TKMaxx buy) and would try another version when it runs out as it's also effective yet sting free.

Thank you everyone. Great suggestions Smile

Simple Eye Make up remover gets my vote . So gentle and yet effective . I have very sensitive skin and eyes , and it never irritates them. Often on 3 for 2 in Boots .

mrsminiverscharlady · 22/12/2014 10:16

Agree with micellar water - I have the Avène one and it's gentle but effective.

Carks31 · 22/12/2014 10:55

Cheap and cheerful boots aloe Vera one in a green bottle. It's about £1.49 and lasts ages. I have had horrible allergic reactions to a few others and a friend recommended this one. I didn't think it'd be any good because it was so cheap but it's fantastic.

Carks31 · 22/12/2014 10:58

Sorry cucumber not aloe Vera

MrsCakesPrecognition · 22/12/2014 11:01

I use Simple. Very effective and comfortable to use.

I ran out of eye makeup remover once, ages ago and used my Oil of Olay moisturiser - it worked beautifully and now this is all I use.

I use the Vichy Thermals eye make up remover for sensitive eyes. Its one of those ones that you shake to mix the "water/oil" components. Its a tad pricey at £11 but its the only one that actually shifts all my waterproof mascara without leaving me with red, sore and streaming eyes. Usually on 3 for 2 at Boots so I stock up.

goodasitgets · 22/12/2014 16:32

Olay. Comes in a tube, think Tethersend recommended it on here. Love it, doesn't ever sting my eyes and I have really sensitive eyes. And it's cheap

Fluffycloudland77 · 22/12/2014 17:57

Baby oil wiped off with a tissue.

Storytown · 22/12/2014 18:08

The absolute best is Kiehl's Supremely Gentle eye makeup remover (not for waterproof though!) Apply to lashes (it's like a milky lotion) and gently remove with warm dampened cotton wool, wiping away from eye. Kiehl's will refund you if you dislike it or react. Used the way I said, a 125ml bottle lasts 8 months or so. You can use it on your face in the same way if it's sensitive too.

Body shop chamomile one is not oily at all and very gentle. Have used it for years.

Steben · 26/12/2014 16:13

Second body shop chamomile one - amazing gentle stuff

LosBreakingBad · 26/12/2014 16:34

I use coconut oil and a hot flannel to remove all my make up. I wear a lot of make up, including Benefit mascara. It takes the whole lot off very easily. It's dirt cheap and lasts for ages.

Sparks1007 · 27/12/2014 05:17

Third Bidy Shop Camomile and I have really sensitive eyes and skin but that stuff is magic.

NightFallsFast · 27/12/2014 05:31

I find the Simple one makes he skin around my eyes sting. It's the only product I've ever found irritating. I'm going to try a few of the other suggestions.
