Hair colour question

I haven't timed my hair colouring for Christmas very well. I had roots (light brown) and highlights (blonde) done 4 weeks ago. I now 1/2 " of horrible silvery /white re growth at my roots. I can't get an appointment before Christmas so- I was wondering - would it be ok to buy a home hair dye and just touch up my roots myself, or will this muck up my usual root touch up in the new year?

I've done that littlehomebird when my next appointment was too long to wait I have very dark brown hair which has been bleached and highlighted blonde to beat the greys! Fortunately the home diy kit worked out and didn't do a bad job on the roots! I wouldn't do it too often though! Although I bought an extra one for just in case!

Just make sure it's a semi permanent one you use. Nice n' Easy have some that are designed to last only 8 washes. If you do ok with that, then move up to one that lasts longer, around 24 washes.

Alternatively you could brush on 'Colour Wow'. £££s but last for ever and very effective. Think QVC do it too if you want the 30 day money back guarantee to try it out in.
