alltoomuchrightnow · 15/12/2014 01:32

is KG sizing american??

OP posts:
alltoomuchrightnow · 15/12/2014 01:33

hmm according to wiki it's brit

this is what's confusing me. I'm a size UK 8 which is always sold to me as EU 41.
therefore... a 7 would be 40 (which i was as a teen) / 6 would be 39 / 5 would be 38 / so that would make 6 a 37???????
yet I've looked on conversion table and it says same as you do, AnyFucker. i.e. a 4. Which doesn't follow the numerical sequence.

this is really confusing! (it's for a pair of boots I want to sell) and a friend tried them on who's a 6, and said they're far too small. So i guess they're a 4.. but I don't see how!!

I think a US37 is different from a 4. A US37 looks to be equivalent to a UK6 to 6.5 (if KG is American?)

All, try your countdown logic again

It works, you just fell at the last hurdle Smile

tuckingfits · 15/12/2014 01:42

Have you been drinking? ;)

Read your workings again: 41 is 8, 40=7, 39=6, 38=5, 37=4!! Not 6!!
It is late, my brain hurts!

alltoomuchrightnow · 15/12/2014 01:42

KG is def UK. but on the box it just says 37, not EU 37, that's why am confused

OP posts:
LeoandBoosmum · 15/12/2014 01:43

This is from KG:

www.kurtgeiger.com/sizeguide/?type=women-size-guide

I am, in UK shoes, a size 36 or 37 and these equate to a 3 and a 4. They must be a UK 4 if your friend is a UK6 and they are way too small for her?

alltoomuchrightnow · 15/12/2014 01:44

haha yes you are right Any!!! lol. no not drinking! maybe too much Stollen and the sugar's addled my brain! v v tired and not a very numerical person either! yes just re wrote it... feel really daft now!!
what really initially confused me was friend saying they were a 6 and then claiming they were too small (well of course they were! she's a 6! now i get why they didnt fit her!) blame it all on her being the dozy one

OP posts:
alltoomuchrightnow · 15/12/2014 01:45

thanks LeoandBoosmum also. How daft do I feel? ! (not as daft as size 6 friend is!)

Grin
alltoomuchrightnow · 15/12/2014 01:46

the really annoying thing is she said 'i'll have them, they're a six'. She brought them back to hers and tried them out. Gave them back saying they were far too small, and she'd got some dirt on them so they look shop soiled now... grrr

OP posts:
tuckingfits · 15/12/2014 01:48

Grin was being silly, didn't really mean the drinking comment. I'm normally numerically challenged also!

AnyFuckerForAMincePie · 15/12/2014 01:49

That is annoying

alltoomuchrightnow · 15/12/2014 01:55

ha i don't mind . I'm honestly like dyslexic with numbers but totally the opposite with letters... I'm really spot on with crosswords and spellings and have been since a really young age.. but numbers?! Forget it. I can't recall phone numbers, I forget house numbers and post codes (yes including my own at times though not been here long!) People can't believe I don't know what my car reg is. But I go blank with numbers. It's like a blindness.. don't know what it is really.

OP posts:
alltoomuchrightnow · 15/12/2014 01:57

yeh it is annoying as box says £99 on it so i could've maybe got £50 or so on eBay. Am currently trying to sell for only £15 on a Facebook selling site because they look 'shop soiled'. I can't get the dirt scuffs off where she wore them round the house (she has floors not carpets and never cleans them. That's not a criticism re her floors as she has back problems, but I just wish she'd not worn the boots but she was convinced a 37 was a 6)

LeoandBoosmum · 15/12/2014 02:21

Meet your maths twin! Grin
Like you, letters and words are far more appealing and straightforward for me!
What are the shoes made of? Are they soiled on the sole only? It may be worth (if it's the uppers) trying a suede brush if they're suede or a neutral shoes cream if they are leather (I had nice leather boots that came scratched and rubbed in neutral leather cream for shoes and buffed off and the marks/ scuffs came out).
Rather than state 'shop soiled' which sounds grubby you'd be better to say 'worn once' and take photos of the marks (maybe better to try to sell on Ebay)?

LeoandBoosmum · 15/12/2014 02:27

I'm not sure you fit the profile for dyscalculia:

www.bdadyslexia.org.uk/dyslexic/dyscalculia

I don't know if it fits me but I get where you are coming from. Even at school I got brain freeze with the simplest calculations and number facts even though I breezed through English, French and German with A grades. My problem is not memory, it seems, so I'm not sure if it's some kind of deep-rooted fear! I hate things like train timetables, for example! Oddly, I was great at both maths and langueage at primary school. I'm not sure why it went tits-up at secondary level. Xmas Confused

LeoandBoosmum · 15/12/2014 02:28

Oh, the irony! *language
Xmas Grin

alltoomuchrightnow · 16/12/2014 17:15

sorry only just read.... two round-faced maths avoiders!
I get absolute brain freeze too re maths. I think it's fear. I was actually quite capable, at school. I was 'average' and then got moved into a higher set (which was too hard for me). When it came to exam , I went into a panic and completely blank, I actually got a U ! (ungraded). When I got home I recalled some of the q's and knew I couldve done them under different conditions,

OP posts:
alltoomuchrightnow · 16/12/2014 17:19

someone's actually coming to collect the boots later.
will look at that link, thanks

KG sizing is tiny. I am a 39.5-40 and need at least a 41 in KG.
