SLS free shampoo help please

I've finally worked out that an itchy scalp and the itchy, short lived spots on my neck are shampoo related duh
So I switched to Tresemme low sulphate shampoo, it got a bit better, then to body shop rainforest shampoo, which has eliminated the itchiness altogether.
However, my hair feels dry and course (am also using rainforest conditioner and the Brazil nut stuff)

Can you recommend any affordable cheap alternatives? I'm sure my hair was softer before...

I occasionally nab DSs Waitrose baby shampoo or Child's Farm shampoo. Both less that £4, paraben, silicone and sulphate free and really gentle but effective cleansers.

Well I use MooGoo shampoo and conditioner. They are not really cheap when you've paid for postage etc but they have no silicones or parabens and your hair feels lovely. I really rate them. BUT I have used the Timotei S+C which cost £2 each in Sainsburys and they area also good.

I like Dr Organic from Hollans and Barrett, several different varieties, all SLS and silicone free.

Try Happy Hair...available from Sainsburys and other retailers.

Naked shampoos under £4 I think and lovely scents

Try the Green People shampoos and conditioners. Lovely, lovely products.

They seem a little pricy- but the tubes are quite large and you onl need to use a small amount. I have shoulder length hair, and a pea sized blob of shampoo is more than enough. A tube will last me 6 months or more (providing DH doesn't use it as shower gel)

Jason's - about £7 for a huge bottle. Lasts ages ( no idea how long, maybe 6-9months?)

L'Oreal Everpure (usually on 3 for 2 somewhere)

Weleda calendula hair and body wash - technically for babies but lovely! this one's good for travel, one tube instead of body wash, shampoo and conditioner. Often 1/3 off in Waitrose or Boots.

I like pureology shampoos. They were recommended to me on here.

Faith in Nature are great. Different types and organic contents.

Dr Organic was recommended to me on here and I really like it. I use the pomegranate one.

The Naked range has been killed by Boots - no new stock in store and Naked's own online shop has been completely removed . I didn't realise until to late. I've managed to get a few bottles of shampoo from my local boots but am now dealing with sls filled conditioner ruining my hair.

So I'm watching this thread with interest. I was going to have a crack at Burts Bees.

Oh no, I switched to fibrology shampoos but use naked in between..would have stocked up if I'd known. I used to use aveda Rosemary mint shampoo may have to use that for a while though it's pricey

Another vote for Jason's. I started using it last month and it is lovely!

L'oreal everpure range is great and also Halos and Horns baby products from Boots. Love the SLS free shower gel, the whole family use it.

It's interesting how different ones suit different people, The Body Shop Rainforest one left my hair feeling all dead and lifeless with an itchy scalp, the L'Oreal Everpure wasn't much better, sadly I think it's a case of just trying them all out. None of them are so bad I wouldn't finish the bottle, but those two are definitely ones I won't be buying again.

I wasn't previously aware that the Body Shop Rainforest shampoos were SLS free. But I am going to try it. It's a good price!

I wait for holland & Barrett's penny sale then stock up on dr organic.

We love the naked range you can buy at boots, timotei now do a sls free shampoo and conditioner too

See my post above about Naked Shelley. Get to your local boots and buy up as much Naked as you can.
