What products do I 'need' from America?

Going for a quick trip to the States soon and wondering what is good there that I can't get in the UK...any ideas? What is cheaper? It is so long since I have been...I used to get Benefit etc, but now they are all here.

Paula's Choice skincare is v. good.

If there is a Sephora where you are going, pop in. It's a really amazing store that makes NK Space look drab and pokey. They have pretty much EVERYTHING in there.

Any US brands, Clinique will be cheaper etc generally.

I'm lucky I tend to go to Delaware where there's 0% sales tax on everything (but deadly boring otherwise) and Philly (next state up) which also has low sales tax on clothes etc.

MAC and UD etc will have their holiday collections out now if that's what you like.

Kiehl's and UGGs are cheaper in the states than the UK

Uniqlo appears to be as well, depends what you are looking for and where you will be

Sephora is great, things like Clarisonics definitely cheaper there than UK, will be popping in there myself in 2 weeks time as off to NY - whoo hooo!

I was also going to say Kiehl's - I love their shampoos. Also Philosophy - I can't remember the name of their great and hugely popular cleanser, most Bobbi Brown but not foundation oddly. Brushes are hugely cheaper. Pretty much everything is cheaper there so stock up .

Well, I want the Crest 3D whitening strips although not tried them yet

Paula's Choice skincare is brilliant, makeup is meh.

if you go by a drugstore (chemist) check out all the brands there (not L'Oreal etc), they're often much cheaper eg Revlon and have brands we don't have, can't think of them offhand but got some great bargains.

Queen Helene range (foot scrub, Julep mask) etc all good, Palmers cocoa butter etc.

The Gap is great too and J Crew, Banana Republic etc... I also like Old Navy for a few bits. if you're near a Barnes and Noble etc (bookstore) they tend to have good books, cheaper.

if you love stuff like Twinkies Hostess Cakes stock up too (vile sugary things but a US friend of mine in UK loves them) far cheaper than in Tescos!

you can get them over here but cheaper in the US. Brands like Coach and Marc Jacobs, fab leather bags and purses etc but a lot less over there. As already said Uggs are a lot cheaper. I always stock up for dd.

Gap isn't much cheaper unless you have a coupon, but we don't have old navy here and its fab. Great for basics and for childrenswear, I really wish they would bring it over here.

Be careful of outlet stores s often the main stores have better offers and sales rails than the outlet stores. E.g in Hollister outlet they were selling t-shirts for $12 but in the main store on the sale rail and a large section of the store, t-shirts were $8, or 2 for $15.

Handbags are much cheaper. Coach and Michael Kors are less in dollars there than they are in pounds here.

It's just a brand of deodorant.

I always stock up on Secret deodorant (the gel ones, gorgeous scents. Unfortunately, my 9YO DD is now also hooked, so I have to bring tonnes back when we go).

I'm not a big makeup person, but MAC, OPI, Essie, Maybelline are all much cheaper. I don't really buy anything else, but makeup on the whole is cheaper (US brands).

M&Ms. Obvs not S&B, but the variety of M&Ms are addictive. My favourites are almond, and the peanut butter ones.

Clothes: DKNY cozies are much cheaper, esp in outlets, great for travelling. Trainers: I got a pair of my (v specific) running shoes in a Nike outlet last year for about £25 rather than £110 here (they were old season though). I wear loads of Lucky Brand jeans: the fit is great on me. Other U.S. jeans brands are also cheaper: Paige, j brand etc etc. Old navy for PJs and kids clothes (esp swimmers). J Crew for work stuff and basics (if there's a sale on). Victorias Secret for their buy 5 for $26 pants, LOVE them, and when last in US the assistant was giving out vouchers for 7 for $26. I also like their bras, but they're not cheap! Sportswear is good (I like Lululemon, but again it's not part cheap, just interesting).
