Interview outfit - heylp!

I am starting to look for a new job and need something a bit smarter for an interview outfit. At the moment I wear supermarket / primark tops and trousers as I'm doing a fairly messy job and don't want to spoil nice clothes. I'm applying for office based management type roles, but nowhere ultra conservative or formal (trying to be a bit vague here!)

I've no idea really about clothes, prefer jeans, t shirts and converse! I'm assuming skirt, top and jacket? or trousers??! I assume I need accessories, but wouldn't know where to start!

I am early 40s, almost 6 ft tall, size 14-16, tummy too big. If in trousers I need at least a 33" inside leg. I normally wear black, grey, olive green and blues. I don't do heels. Not sure on budget, as I normally spend very little on clothes, will need smarter stuff once I've got a proper job though.

To impress at an office/manager role I'd invest in the Warehouse one for starters... you can get gems at H&M

warehouse one - like that shape, but I'd prefer something with a bit of colour, not just black

sainsburys one - ok, but cannot buy online and sainsburys is miles away, so have left for now

mango one - like it, but only avaliable up to size 10 :(

zara one - I'm sure it looks lovely on you, but I'm not so keen

the Very ones have both arrived and fit :) Neither is really what I wanted for an interview, but I might well keep them if I get the job

To be totally honest I wouldn't wear the tea dresses to an interview. they look very nice for other occasions though.

but the others are great - the Mango one (1st) is lovely a bit grey but nice. The DP dress is great though lovely colour and I like the last Very one.

oh I was gonna say jackets I found a great one in H&M (Zara could do or Massimo Dutti) - it was about a year or so ago and it's zipped (I think it's fine).

You just basically need something smart to whack on over the top. I really don't do skirt suits for interview anymore or trouser suits, I think skirt suits are a bit dated and only if you're in city.
