Help! It's not me.....it's the zip

My gorgeous dress arrived in post today and I've just tried it on.
Thirty minutes later and the zip still won't go all the way up. Arghh!
Bought in sale but there's no problem with it. The zip is sewn tight to fabric. It does need a little yank unworn and it does fit. I swear.
My DM suggested Velcro I want to cry.
Any suggestions to make this zip move?
Please don't make me wear Velcro to black tie dinner.

I'm confused, is the dress too tight for the zip to go up? Or is the zip too stiff?

I'm not quite sure what you mean but my only zip advice is to rub the teeth with a bar of soap to make it move more smoothly.

If it's just a faulty zip, send it back, if the zip design means a replacement will have the same problem, then take it to a local tailor/ alternations place and ask if they can change it.

Sorry, the zip is stuck..not faulty. It goes up halfway then doesn't move.
I don't have bar do soap but friend suggested a candle.

Rub it with a pencil or a cotton bud with the tiniest bit of WD40 on it making sure it doesn't touch the fabric.
