Are the boots just too boring?

Have been looking for some ankle boots which are comfortable, completely flat - but not too frumpy. Flat because I'm recovering from a knee injury. So many 'flat' ankle boots, whose design I really like, actually have a small heel.

The latest I've tried are:
www.zalando.co.uk/camper-palmera-boots-brown-ca311c028-703.html

I've always liked the look of Camper shoes, though have never actually bought any, but can't decide if these are just a bit too boring.
Any views on these, or Camper boots in general, please? And, if I do go for them, would black or brown be a better choice?

Oh, and there is one other style, I'm considering:

I do already have a pair of R and B Zip Code 'for best', but really need something for every day walking.

Views on these also welcome.

TIA..

I much prefer the 2nd link.
But they may be very different on!

hellsbellsmelons · 20/11/2014 11:28

I quite like these

AmeliaPeabody · 20/11/2014 11:32

I like the second pair more. They're ok

museumum · 20/11/2014 11:34

I just bought some beautiful clarks boots... called hotel chase. Heel is less than 1cm.

Don't usually get on with Clark's but will certainly check those out. Like the KG ones but I really want a zip (sad though that might be!).

Thanks, museummum. Do like the look of the Hotel Chase and have ordered them into my local store. Here:

also saw some called Mint Jam which I've ordered in to have a look at too:

Any other views still gratefully received.

I like the ones you've ordered much better than the others you linked to originally.

polyhymnia · 20/11/2014 13:00

Yes, agree they look nicer. Will only be able to tell when I try on how comfortable they are.

Camper do have some nice styles but those just seem a bit too boring.

Any other

Sorry - suggestions?

Dh has a pair of camper shoes. While they look very comfortable and 'sensible' they are ridiculously uncomfortable. He had to put an insole in them to get any wear out of them.

polyhymnia · 20/11/2014 13:06

Interesting - particularly as comfort would be more or less the only selling point

Bump for any more comments from afternoon people.

I have always loved camper and find their shoes very comfortable, and long lasting! but I do love the second pair.

polyhymnia · 20/11/2014 16:09

Do you mean the R and B ones?

OP posts:
ameliadoop · 20/11/2014 16:21

I've had Camper shoes in the past and they've been both comfortable and hard wearing, so if you like them go for it. Having said that, I think you could probably find something better than the ones you've linked to.
Have you considered biker boots? I've just bought some Sorel Scotia ones and I love them. Can't link, but they're on Amazon.

ameliadoop · 20/11/2014 16:23

Ah, sorry, just saw you really want a zip. Nevermind!

polyhymnia · 20/11/2014 16:25

Yes, sorry , I love biker type boots but do want a zip ?

Help - any other views/ suggestions? I do know my requirements aren't that easy to reconcile with stylish boots which ideally I'd also like.

I have a £20.00 off voucher code for Zalando if you do end up getting the first lot.
