What's the story with Waterfall Cardigans??

I don't know if I am missing something but could you tell me if waterfall cardigans are the height of frumpiness or are they really rather beautiful?

Post baby I still feel a little large around the middle. Now that the colder weather has set in I welcome the opportunity to hide in my woollies for the winter!

I have seen from past threads (some very old) that there has been a certain amount of hatred expressed in relation to them. However, they are available to buy everywhere (Mint Velvet - not frumpy through to Boden - teeters on the edge of frumpiness at times).

Has anyone got any thoughts and if you are really anti-waterfall what shaped cardigan do you rate?

I thought of this thread when I saw this today. Is it hideous? Is it even waterfall? I'm a fat apple shape & need something to cover my ham like arms. I'd wear it with a longish vest or camisole , jeggings or black jeans (yes I know) and chunky boots.
I'm in my 40s & generally quite scruffy. I need to grow up a bit and get out of my hoodies & trainers.

Just to be clear: I don't like waterfall cardigans on anyone because...I just don't like them. There's something extraneous about the waterfally bit that bothers me.

But I'm not a cardigan ageist Grin - I hate them equally on 14-year-olds and 84-year-olds.

This is the sort of thing I mean:
www.zara.com/uk/en/woman/knitwear/cardigans/long-cardigan-with-pockets-c498027p2251527.html

Simple shape. No frills. Straight past tummy, arse and thighs. Job done.

It isn't is it MrsDeVere? I did wonder if it'd cling. JB clothes do tend to I've found.
Oh well, I shall stick to my totally plain black knee length cardi. :)

Can I whinge that I lost my lovely blue/grey summer waterfall cardigan and haven't found anything similar to replace it?
I am 40 something, so I suppose it's ok to wear it. And quite thin, but with a somewhat hourglass figure too.

Do you know, when originally posting Colleen Nolan did pop into my head. Not a look I would ever aspire to. Surprised that she is not wearing that bloody yellow statement necklace with it.

As waterfall cardigans go it is pretty horrible. I know there are nicer out there.

WildBillfemale I have seen your disgusting comments on another thread about the poor woman who is a victim of severe domestic violence and has had to have a panic room installed in her house to protect hey from her dangerous abuser. Your comments on that thread are ill informed and lacking any decent humanity towards another woman. Combined with the snide comments on this thread, I don't think you are a very nice person. Superior and self righteous. I hope you are happy in your smug little world...

What a ridiculous and malicious comment, you are trying to paint me as someone who doesn't give a shit about DV and are clearly over emotional and projecting.
My comments on the other thread are about the way funds are being wasted - they could have been used much more efficiently to tackle the same problem. Try absorbing facts instead of projecting emotions.

p.s This is a thread about cardigans - are you going to stalk me from board to board? - I haven't had an unbalanced stalker for a while so feel free........

Yes Noddy Colleen Nolan is exactly what I picture when I hear "waterfall cardigan" - exactly that image on your link. I knew I was right to be suspicious of them!
