Joules Wellies

I want some wellies for things like the school run, muddy wet walks, snow...basically everything you need wellies for. Obviously.

I won't be wearing them every single day, all day but want some decent ones that will last for this time of year.

I've seen some gorgeous Joules ones for £40 but I've read a lot of old crappy reviews on them. Are they worth the money?

Never really worn wellies before.

I love mine! Wear them mostly for muddy walks without any problems! (Get welly socks too!)

FamiliesShareGerms · 15/11/2014 20:14

Mine have been fine too

MommyBird · 15/11/2014 20:16

A good review! Waheey! Grin

DH keeps telling me to buy them (and the socks!) However. I'm a bit stingy. For £40 I want them to last forever! Grin

I've had a glass of wine so I'm feeling a little carefree! Im going to order them!

They're probably ok for that kind of stuff, but for heavy-duty wear, like on a farm, they're crap. Oh and they can't withstand pressure-washing.

LadyHamiltonsPussy · 15/11/2014 20:17

Have a look on their ebay outlet store. You may get a bargain. I got some for dd for £10 inc postage, thought it was a good price. Was Shock when they arrived with a price tag for £29.95!!

A few other styles there too.

tempted myself damn you

MommyBird · 15/11/2014 20:20

Oh no. No farming!
I do want Chickens but that's beside the point.

Are the socks thick?
I'm a size 6, so do I order the 6? Or the 7 to make room for the socks?
I also read you have a size up when it comes to wellies?

Joules were doing 25% off with a code earlier this week but don't know if it is still valid. I bought some wellies - spotty navy ones last week and they £30 instead of £40 with the discount. Wore them today and think they're fab!

I'm in love with the navy ones with floral print. I love a bit of floral print! Grin

Lady, do it. Have a glass of Wine
it really helps. Ordered DD2 a fox sleep suit too. Whoops!

I hate mine.
I only wear them for dog walking and they rub like buggery.
I'll never know why my dairy farmer dad with an account at all the agricultural stores got me thise instead. £80!

Showy · 15/11/2014 20:27

My friend gave me some brand new ones last year. She bought them and then was diagnosed with a Problematic Right Foot and couldn't manage wellies. I wear them a lot. No problems. She also gave me her brand new Merrell snow boots. Now they are awesome.

marymouse · 15/11/2014 20:29

I love mine too, bought the green ones with floral design a few months ago. They are so comfy!

JuniperTisane · 15/11/2014 20:32

Not that its quite the same but DS1 (4) has some second hand ones which were in great nick when I got them and he doesn't want me to get new ones even though he's grown out of them now. He says they're just so comfy.

icklekid · 15/11/2014 20:36

I have fat calves and being adjustable means they fit! Im size 6 and as dh bought as a present he bought size 6- they fit perfectly. Glad you have bought. Mine are stripy and so much fun!

Lettucesnow · 15/11/2014 20:38

Where could I get the calf height dog ones cheaper? Size 7 or 8?

MommyBird · 15/11/2014 20:52

Icklekid have you bought the socks too?

I wore mine loads, but they got a split in after about 6 months. I've given up with nice looking wellies. Got a trusty navy pair from Blacks and they've lasted ages, I'd say 2 years. No sign of any problems yet. Maybe newer joules wellies are better?

TooMuchCantBreathe · 15/11/2014 21:17

I love mine but size up for thick socks. They aren't heavy duty (I have a different pair for doing the horses because the ammonia rots them) but they are comfortable for dog walking etc ime. I'd say they are one of the better low/mid range welly.

icklekid · 16/11/2014 02:21

Yes do have the socks!

BlueberryMuffins76 · 16/11/2014 07:30

I love mine! I have navy with the gold plate name on the front and floral interior - www.joules.com/Women/Wellies/Posh-Welly/Womens-Premium-Welly/Navy?id=O_POSHWELLY|NAVY

I wear them for rainy days, dog walking, all sorts really - they're really comfy and very much fit just like I'm wearing a boot, they're not cumbersome like wellies can sometimes be. I also have the socks from a fox socks to wear with them Smile

bonhomme · 16/11/2014 08:09

I love mine too
