Solid spots on face

Not sure if this is in the right place but hoping someone has some advice.

Over the last 6 months my skin has turned into a dreadful spotty mess. I've had no dietry changes, not changed make up brand or skin care regime so Ihave no idea what's causing it.

The frequent white heads seem to have settled abit recently but I have an issue with a reoccurring solid lump on my cheek, there is never a head to it (have tried hot compresses to bring one out but no luck yet) and it can be sore for a few days then dissapears but it's back again within a week.

Does anyone have any idea what it could be? Google isn't helping very much. I just want it to go away

It's still acne. Many spots take weeks to get anywhere or disappear without having ever got to a head.

What skincare are you using? You need chemical exfoliator ie salicylic or glycolic acid to help your skin along to get rid of it.

Ask your GP to refer you to a dermatologist.

Give La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo a try. Since I have used it (face wash and moisturiser morning and night) it has completely changed my spotty, hormonal skin. I used to have spots reoccurring over and over again, now I have pretty much no spots at all. There is hope, don't worry!

Most likely hormonal causes. It sounds like cystic acne. Go and see your GP.

Thanks for the suggestions guys, GP it is then. Feel like a spotty teenager, it's not good.

Had been considering a chemical peel but that seemed a little drastic. Hopefully the GP can suggest something.

Cystic acne maybe? I think it can be autoimmune related and/or also hormonal for example if you are developing any of the conditions related to metabolic disorder such as diabetes, other blood sugar issues, polycystic ovary, and so on.

As this is a NEW thing to you (to have problem skin), I think it's really important to see your GP to see if the skin problem is a symptom of other issues. Just in case.
