Hand cream

It's that time of year again and my hands are getting really dry and sore. My skin actually cracked today which is stinging like crazy.

I want to treat myself to a really nice hand cream, something that absorbs really fast and smells amazing. Can anyone recommend anything?

I love Aveeno Skin Relief. It's not particularly scented or anything but I get chronically dry hands in winter (I get awful big cracks across my knuckles if I'm not really careful) and this is the only thing I've found that absorbs really quickly and keeps on top of the dryness.

L'Occitane shea butter hand cream is the richest I've found.

Neutrogena Norwegian formula hand cream is very effective and gets absorbed quickly. Also a little goes a long way.

Clarins hand and nail cream is absolutely brilliant , smells great , absorbs really well and doesn't leave behind any stickiness , I have used it for years and despite trying others I always go back to it GrinGrin

The hemp hand cream by The Body Shop is the best.

Lush helping hands. It's fab.

mowglik · 03/11/2014 20:25

L'occitane shea hand cream or Mary Kay satin hands or Elizabeth Arden 8 hr hand cream, all are equally good!

scrivette · 03/11/2014 20:36

Another vote for L'Occetain Shea Butter, or Aveda Hand Relief.

There's a freebie in this months Tatler.
I've never read Tatler, apart from the occasional bit at the dentist's but I think they have Neal's Yard Handcream which is lovelier than lovely.

'Hand Relief' Grin

Sorry, looked it up and it's Cowshed.
Which is OK as well.

bouncinbean · 03/11/2014 20:44

Another vote for l'occitane. It was a surprise gift from DP and very random for him but it's been one of his best gifts as he's actually managed to buy something both useful and lovely!

TheLastThneed · 03/11/2014 20:47

I love, love, love L'Occitane she's butter and also Aveeno....

almondfinger · 03/11/2014 21:28

Nuxe Hand Cream smells divine.

La Roche Posay Ciclaplast Mains - no smell, no residue. The one I use when the excema on my fingers cracks. It's excellent and a little goes a long way.

TheLastThneed · 03/11/2014 22:23

Not sure what 'she's butter is' Confused ... Bloody autocorrect...

L'Occitane's lavender or rose handcream. Also love Penhaligon's "Vanities" hand & body cream. Total bargain in TK Maxx, smells divine & leaves my hands beautifully soft.

SoftKittyWarmKitty · 03/11/2014 22:57

Another vote for Neutrogena. Soaks in quickly, hands feel better immediately and a little goes a long way. It's the only things that works for my hands.

bberry · 03/11/2014 23:02

Does anyone know of a good hand cream to get rid of age spots?

Pancakeflipper · 03/11/2014 23:05

Hemp from Body Shop. Not the best smelling one but it works and I know a lot of farmers who use it.

I also like Clarins as it makes my nails grow quickly.

Madaboutthrows · 03/11/2014 23:06

If you are lucky you may still be able to buy Marie Claire which has locctaine hand creams free so you could try it without spending loads of money

BlueEyedWonder · 04/11/2014 06:51

I got l'occitane free with Marie Claire recently. Like it so much that I will definitely buy it when it runs out.

Safmellow · 04/11/2014 06:57

O'Keeffe's Working Hands. At night smear Vaseline or 8 Hour cream across your knuckles.

Ohmygrood · 04/11/2014 07:01

Body shop hemp. I can't be without it.
