NEXT sizing

I've just bought 3 dresses from Next. I'm usually a size 10. They all fit, but are all, well, slightly baggy I suppose.

Is this the current fashion? Or do they in fact NOT really fit?

Thanks!

I find Next sizing is too big for what I consider my "normal " size. It's probably a marketing thing to get you to buy there.

SavoyCabbage · 29/10/2014 07:15

Next sizing is huge I find.

Fitzers · 29/10/2014 07:16

I find next sizing to be on the generous size. I can be a size smaller depending on the item.

Ahhhhhh, I see. Thank you! x

I think the sizing has changed. For years I have been 12 petite in jeans. Admittedly I have lost 7lbs recently but now 10 petite is way baggy at the waist (but fit well round bum and thighs). Tops seem to be the same though

I think next sizing is definitely vanity sized.

burnishedsilver · 29/10/2014 09:35

I'm a 10-12 in other shops but 8-10 in next.
Try sizing down.

Its massive and varies enormously .

I have ordered three sports tops in a size 6. I am not a size 6... huge!

KneesoftheBee · 29/10/2014 10:08

I take a tape measure whenever I go to Next.

They have definitely introduced vanity sizing and I often buy a size 8 or even 6 when I am a standard size 10. I asked for a size guide and the shop assistant looked at me like I had asked for a cup of coffee!!

Unfortunately, they sometimes forget to increase/reduce the garment in proportion and you end up with a baggy top and sleeves you can't get your arms into. Confused

Agree with Knees - vanity sizing is ludicrous these days! I'm currently a 10 in Next, but I wasn't even a 10 when I was two stone lighter twenty years ago! The cut shape has change too - waists are much bigger in relation to hips these days, resulting in a straighter up-down fashion shape. V difficult for those of us with natural waists and/or bigger boobs.

BlueEyedWonder · 29/10/2014 11:17

Yes. Huge.
I am an 8 in Topshop jeans and a 6-8 in their dresses, coats and tops.
I always buy 6 petite in Next but sometimes even that is too big for me :((
