The dc and I will all be wearing matching christmas jumpers and t shirts christmas day! That was before I saw this thread:)

We are really excited about it. We are also going to do a speech each at dinner. We will film it too:)

MrsCampbellBlack · 29/10/2014 06:24

I think it's sweet and would look fab with white skinnies on christmas day Wink

Magic - you really don't have to justify how you spend your money to anyone.

I also got the £15 voucher today, am sure there will be a 20% off thing soon and if you go through something like quidco - well then it is practically free Wink

BlueEyedWonder · 29/10/2014 07:22

Well, I have ordered mine to wear to a number of festive occasions this year as discussed earlier in this thread Grin.
Y9D4 currently gets you 22% off with free delivery.

As I am a teeny tiny 5ft / size 6, and want the jumper to be more fitted on me, I ordered the 11-12. Using the £15 email voucher I was sent, it cost me a little over £17 Smile.

magicpixie · 29/10/2014 09:36

yeah I know I don't have to justify my spending
just trying to point out its not wasteful, as I do hate waste

and that I can afford it and would not even consider it if I couldn't

me and dh actually spend far less on our children on presents and toys than most people we know
we actually really don't spend alot

I wasn't actually planning on actually getting them until the first few replies made me think actually is quite a sweet sign of affection that she wants too
and that really it won't be long before she will really won't want to do anything like this

OP posts:
burnishedsilver · 29/10/2014 09:41

I don't like the jumper but it won't be long before she finds it embarassing to be seen with you. Wear it and enjoy the moment Smile

Pass the pair of them on to a charity shop when she outgrows hers.

burnishedsilver · 29/10/2014 09:44

There are people on here regularly blowing hundreds on handbags. Whats with the guilt trip about the cost of a boden jumper?

MrsCampbellBlack · 29/10/2014 09:59

Oh they guilt about the handbags too - handbag threads are worse even than baby names Wink

LightastheBreeze · 29/10/2014 10:03

i quite like it, I couldn't wear it myself as it contains 50% wool and it would make me itch, its also quite subtle so you could easily wear it all winter which would make it much better value. Also the 22% off code is quite good and it is something nice to spend the Xmas money on. I think the rellies like to see a proper present rather than just frittering from money gifts.

vjg13 · 29/10/2014 10:21

You are one step away from this OP! Grin

carrie74 · 29/10/2014 11:34

This thread has really tickled me, and I think for a one-off Xmas time of year, good taste goes out the window, and fun takes its place. And as novelty jumpers goes, it could be MUCH worse. It reminded me of those jumpers in the 80s that were covered in lines of white sheep with one black (and then I saw that Johnnie's created something similar when I clicked on your link).

HopefulHamster · 29/10/2014 12:22

I think it's quite nice.

Me&I (Swedish brand probably considered naff here but do nice bits, especially for kids!) always do some matchings kids and mum clothes with every season. Haven't bought any yet but might do one day :)

VoyagerII · 29/10/2014 22:41

:o I just checked out Me&I to have a look and I like their blurb.

"We create the collection for conscious women with a taste for comfy and fabulous clothes."

NerfHerder · 29/10/2014 23:16

Sometimes I have to change, so that I won't be going out in an identikit outfit to DD. Something such as leggings, grey tunic dress, long-sleeved top underneath, we're often both wearing. (different prints on the dress, but still...)

Riverland · 29/10/2014 23:21

Hmmmmm. I love that photo from vjg13

I wonder if I could get matching jumpers for me and my teenage sons.

It would make an epic photo and amuse me quite deeply for a long time, I think.

WildBillfemale · 30/10/2014 07:07

She's 7, you are in charge, couldn't you just say no?

Floisme · 30/10/2014 07:59

Of course she could say no but it's not like her daughter's stamping her feet and demanding a pony. She just sounds like a child who wants to look like her mum. It's a lovely stage and it's over in a flash.

northernlurker · 30/10/2014 08:11

Of course she can say no - but she's very tempted to say yes because this is a really sweet request and the jumper isn't awful.

Why would she say no? For the satisfaction of being a proper puritan Mumsnet parent? Hmm

I think its sweet that she wants to match too. I was just on this thread where we discussed how our 9 year old Dds had turned vile so you have to enjoy this.

IsItMeOr · 30/10/2014 08:27

I'd be tempted to do it too OP. I'm sure almost 6yo DS would love the idea.

I couldn't find any Christmas PJs for me, so feel that penguin jumper calling to me...

tassisssss · 31/10/2014 10:05

hahahaha I think my dds and i may have matching Olaf jumpers this Christmas.

DO IT!!!

(at least yours is tasteful!)

KatherinaMinola · 31/10/2014 10:17

Actually I really like it - was eyeing it up in the catalogue although it wouldn't suit me, unfortunately. I like a Christmas jumper- you can look festive whilst being comfortable and warm.

I like matching dd too - don't really care what anyone else thinks.
