All boden catalogues should go in the bin, they're so twee. Confused

vestandknickers · 27/10/2014 22:35

The children's one is £40 and the adults one £70. So you'll be paying over £100 for a bit of a joke on Christmas day?

Holy shit!

Each to their own of course, but I'd be saying no to my DD. Might be a good way of her learning that parents have to make choices when deciding how to spend their money.

VoyagerII · 27/10/2014 22:37

Yes I think 16 will fit you. I used to get Johnnie B tops occasionally when they did a larger size than that and I'm a 14-16.

morechildrenplease · 27/10/2014 22:38

Primani have all their Xmas jumpers out now. You could get matching £12 jumpers instead. Mine play music too!

Riverland · 27/10/2014 22:39

Use a discount code and ebay your penguin jumper next year if you don't want to keep appearing in it!

turdfairynomore · 27/10/2014 22:40

I'm itching just looking at the photo!!

magicpixie · 27/10/2014 22:43

I cannot believe you lot have talked me into this !

I can afford it as luckily get given money by my mum n dad and my inlaws and grandparents for Christmas

and tbh I never know what to spend it on
and I can always stick the bigger one on ebay
and let dd keep hers of course

I would, it sounds like it would make her v happy Smile

DD and I have matching leggings from there - we don't wear them at the same time except once by accident . They are really really nice leggings, honest!

AcrossthePond55 · 28/10/2014 01:58

I think you'll both look adorable! Anything goes at Christmas! (says the middle aged lady in the 12 Days of Christmas waistcoat)

We actually have a 'wear your most outrageous Christmas tie/jumper/shirt/sweatshirt' party. It's great fun. The Boden is vv understated compared to what you'd see there!

Riverland · 28/10/2014 02:02

Good on you for going with your daughters idea! She'll never forget!

If you feel brave, show us the picture you get taken, we'll all feel the more festive for it, I bet.

Also.....I have a hunch you're both going to look mega cute.

Darkchocsprinkles · 28/10/2014 07:01

Do it. You'll have so much fun and so many happy memories.

I'm a size 12 and Johnnie B age 16 sweaters fit me perfectly.

Wait for a code but in any case it's a better investment than all the plastic crap toys 7 year olds usually ask for.

Have fun Smile

Floisme · 28/10/2014 07:02

Another one egging you on. Firstly I am guessing you can afford it because it is, of course, an outrageous waste of money Assuming you can, I just think it's lovely that your daughter wants you to dress like her and - as the mother of a teen - I also think you should savour every moment while it lasts.

Nospringflower · 28/10/2014 07:08

I think you're off your head even thinking about it. If you really must do what your 7 year old wants then go shopping with her and buy a decent jumper not expensive twee stuff from Boden. Angry

Badvoc123 · 28/10/2014 07:13

Why not if you can afford it?
I think it's sweet.

Felyne · 28/10/2014 07:15

I just showed the jumper to my 4yo DD. "Is it only for big people?" Yes, I said, 9-10 years up to adults. "When I'm 9 I'm going to have that top and you can get one too Mummy. We'll be the same"
HA!

BlueEyedWonder · 28/10/2014 07:21

I have my eye on that jumper for myself Blush. There will be a "wear your xmas jumper to work" day, office xmas lunch and I'm working xmas eve (I work in the public sector so like to spread a little cheer).
I'm also thinking of going off piste and wearing it with black wool shorts, opaques and heeled shoe boots for the christmas night out with the school mums and on christmas day itself.
I fully accept my tastes are a litte quirky Wink

My 7yo dd would love nothing more than a full matching mother & daughter wardrobe! She also loves to match dd2 (1). I've got them matching robin christmas pyjamas this year, she'll be thrilled Smile

ihatebats · 28/10/2014 07:43

I think you definitely should she won't be 7 forever - it's so cute and I do like the jumper!

purpleponcho · 28/10/2014 07:56

I wouldn't give a fiver for it in a charity shop.

Madaboutthrows · 28/10/2014 07:59

I like the jper and would wear it all winter

MilkThistle187 · 28/10/2014 08:49

It's a lovely thing to do for her. My dd used to love wearing similar stuff to me, Bretons, etc.. At 7 she would have adored matching jumpers. At 10 she wouldn't be seen dead in anything I'd wear, so make the most of it and take lots of photos

Dancingyogi · 28/10/2014 09:09

I've done matching Bretons with dd when she was a similar age. She was so completely excited by it...I'm so glad I did it...she still talks about his special it made her feel!

MaryWestmacott · 28/10/2014 09:13

as much as you can afford it, it still seems to me a lot of money to spend on a one day joke. Before you do, could you get her to look at some of the M&S Christmas jumpers? you could always get her one from the children's range and you a slightly different one from the adults. At £20 a pop, that's a bit more reasonable for a one day wear item. (then you'd have about £60 left over from the Boden jumper idea to spend on something you actually will wear more than once)
