Halloween lipstick recommendations!

So I have been invited to a fancy dress party on Saturday night. I have sorted my costume, sort of dead bride ensemble and my friend is face painting me to look scary.

I am hoping someone can recommend a dark red long lasting lipstick that I can use on the night. I am quite a fan of dark red lips and so will be looking for something I can wear again. I have a Superdrug near me and a Boots but it is only a very small Boots and does not stock the premium beauty items.

Please help!

Superdrug options:

Sleek lipstick in Cherry, Mulberry or Smother. I cannot recommend these enough. They're just amazing.

Rimmel 107 or 128.

Revlon Black Cherry. This is an amazing dark lipstick but a slightly dry formula so requires super moisturised lips.

Barry M lipstick in Cranberry. They also do a Black Cherry.

Maybelline Red Garnet or Refined Wine.

And check out MUA. Their lippies are a quid each. The shades are hit and miss but the formula is pretty decent especially for the price!

Oh wow, loads of recommendations there thanks!

So the sleek ones are what you particularly like? Wine

Agree about the MUA one, or rimmel in the Kate Moses range do a good one. I found a good technique on Pinterest, put concealer on lips, line with black eye crayon and smudge. Then put red on and smudge from outside in again so you get like an ombré effect. Doing it for dd.

Yes they're just lovely. I've been reaching over my MAC lipsticks for Cherry nearly every day for the past month!

Here's a swatch.

Smother is a very close dupe for MAC Rebel. It's more purple than Cherry.

Mulberry is a gorgeous very dark burgundy with a slight purple undertone.

Thank you both, I really like the look of the sleek cherry shade and I absolutely love the idea of lining with eye crayon. Will definitely be practising that!
