Urgent tights/shoes question

I am going to a black tie wedding later. I have a navy blue cocktail dress to wear. But I don't know what to do about shoes and tights. I have

Black suede court shoes (boring)
High heeled purple shoes
Silver sandals

I'm presuming skin coloured tights with sandals is a big no-no? So if I wear the purple shoes (which are closed in at the front), should I wear skin coloured tights or nearly black?

If you wear coloured shoes tights should always be either skin coloured or actual black, nearly black looks awful with coloured shoes imo.

Personally, I'd wear nude tights and the black shoes, unless you've got a necklace or something else purple to justify the purple shoes. I don't like nearly black tights - think they are a very hard thing to make look okay.

MelanieCheeks · 26/10/2014 14:16

I'd go for the nude tights with the purple shoes.

RoganJosh · 26/10/2014 14:18

I'd go navy tights and purple shoes.

Dancergirl · 26/10/2014 14:20

Navy tights isn't an option, I don't have any and don't like them anyway, think I'd look too navy!

+1 for nude tights and purple shoes

Sandals = bare legs (fake tan) + a good pedicure

iwantgin · 26/10/2014 14:37

Yes - purple shoes, with nude tights.

Can you wear the sandals without tights? It's probably (almost) warm enough to get away with it.

Got any pictures of dress and shoes??

Thanks, I will go for the purple shoes and nude tights. Bit chilly to go without tights so will save the sandals for next summer.
