This gap one:

If so, what's it like...before I make the journey to the shop. I was intending to buy a leopard print fur coat but think maybe this Gap coat is more practical. I wear mainly mini dresses with thick tights/skinny jeans ankle boots kind of thing. Will a trench style coat go with that...never had a trench so I'm not really sure.

I think it will definitely work but what is your waist like if you are thick waisted and a sort of rectangular/apple shape belted coats can look can look unflattering.

hmm I am an apple shape unfortunately...this is probably why I have been avoiding trench coats! Despite being a size 6-8 I have a belly and biggish boobs (28F). Sometimes I do wear belted stuff and the false waist it creates doesn't look that bad tbh....although maybe I am deluding myself.

I was in Gap this morning and only regular trenches there or the Cos-style wool coats. This may be an online exclusive. Probably worth calling before going to store to see when/if it'll be in store - 0800 368 0674.

I bought one on Saturday in the Birmingham store. It is lovely thick cotton, i really like it.

I sized up thinking i might want a jacket underneath it and the medium - my normal size almost everywhere on the top - was a little snug across the shoulders. The large was fine.

cotton? wool even!
