Champneys - is is still good?

Anyone been to the Tring site recently? I have not been for several years. Want to escape for a couple of nights and really want a spa place but recent tripadvisor feedback is quite mixed.

Any of you been recently? Has it gone downhill?

Really don't want to go and feel let down. Thanks for any feedback - or alternative ideas!

I went to Forest Mere in the spring with friends (my first time) and I thought it was good actually, v relaxing, nice treatments, great communal areas. We all liked it so much, we're going again at the beginning of December.

Was there in March. Some areas a looking a bit tired .. paintwork etc ... but don't think you can beat it for the overall experience and treatments.
