Knee ish high, natural, leather or swede. I loved the Clarks gortex ones - strong and sturdy but looked lovely with tights and skirts/dresses.

Everywhere seems to be huge Ugg things and too many straps/buckles/bits.

Hello I have a DD nearly 8 and been looking for the same thing.

Just bought her a pair by Froddo -a kind of unisex Chelsea boot. Really lovely.
Also like thse Boden but they seem to have sold out in virtually all sizes: www.boden.co.uk/en-GB/Girls-1H-12yrs-Shoes-Boots/Boots/39127/Girls-1H-12yrs-Tall-Leather-Boots.html?NavGroupID=11

Boden also do a shorter suede version but there's a long waiting list.
Geox also do lovely ones, and look up Pippo too.

Have you looked on Start rite website - they have a few fairly plain pairs

We just got these for dd also 8. They are more mid calf than knee high though. Seem very sturdy and look like they will last.
www.drmartens.com/uk/Kids/Kids-Juniors/Dr-Martens-Blip-Kids-Boot/p/16215001 they come in different colours too.

We also have these in brown. m.johnlewis.com/mt/www.johnlewis.com/timberland-skyhaven-leather-boots/p1494397?colour=Black&un_jtt_v_pdp=yes&un_jtt_v_from_product=un_product_30#page_loaded
