Clarins Beauty Flash Balm

How do you use yours?

This is a product in my cabinet that I'm a little mystified by...the instructions say to use under make up, though to apply quickly after you slap on the balm. I don't wear a lot of make up so yeah, pretty intimidating directions. It also says to wear as a face mask and to remove after 15 minutes...what's that all about? Multi tasking product (that isn't a BB cream!)

Is it a primer or moisturiser, without an apparent SPF? I have pale skin feel naked without SPF 15!

Should I bin the product, and stick my Vaseline lip therapy in it's spot?

I prefer Clinique moisture surge which is similar and can be used as a mask or under make up.

Clarins is ok- it's an extra to put over your usual stuff and under sun screen or foundation.

Thanks - Was part of a gift set and don't think I've been enticed away from No7/Liz Earle! However, love the Clarins orange exfoliator!

I love it! I use it as a pick-me-up during the day (I don't wear foundation very often), or as a primer for make up in the evening. I love the smell of it, and it reminds me of being on holiday, so always perks me up emotionally as well as physically!

Ps I love the orange exfoliater too - those are the only 2 Clarins products I use.

I love it. I just wear it by itself to give my skin a bit of a 'glow'. Tried a few but always go back to Clarins.

It's supposed to go over your moisturiser and under foundation, to give your skin a bit of an artificial boost to look more healthy. I was told by the Clarins lady that it specifically wasn't a moisturiser, (not that she was trying to sell me multiple products, of course) but if you don't need a proper moisturiser, you could get away with this I reckon.

I wouldn't pay for it as I don't think its an essential product, but always choose it if it features in one of their promotions where you get three or four decent sized freebies. That way it feels like more of a treat.

I also got one as a freebie, I got an eye one as well. I do quite like it, although it took a few goes to get it right. YOu have to pat it on they say, but I think it does give a nice glow to the skin.

I haven't used it as a mask though....
