My lovely hair dresser has gone on maternity leave, so I made an appointment with a different hairdresser for my trim.

What a checking disaster. I told her I just wanted a trim. She said she was a free style cutter and to trust her. Jesus Christ what a mess. She didn't use scissors, she used this blade thing. Apart from taking about 3 inches off it, she has thinned it out so much that the ends look like rats have chewed on them..

When I dry it the ends all stick out all over the place and they are all different lengths. It tats really really easily and looks and feels in.terrible dried up condition.

I went to Peter Mark to get it fixed and the lady there said to fix it she would have to cut the length up really high and advised I live with it till.it grows.a bit.

I need advice on keeping it that free as I'm having to cut the tats off at the nape of my neck a thing I have never had to do. I also wondered is there a technique or product I can use to stop the ends sticking out. I have been crying every time I look at it. I'm so disgusted. Does any one know what she has done????

It sounds like she has used a razor to cut your hair. It's mainly used to texturise hair for a choppy look. It's also hard to fix because the razor will have left the hair different lengths so to make it all even again you would lose quite a bit of hair.

So I should just let it grow. I get that. I have bought clips etc so have been wearing it up. Is there anything I can do to stop all the different length ends sticking out all over the place?

It's horrible when you have a bad experience at the hairdressers. She completely disregarded your request for a trim but good heavens why didn't you stop her when you could see what she was doing?! Did you not say something to her when she'd finished that it wasn't what you wanted and you are not happy with it.

How short is it now? Would you not be better to have the tatty ends cut off into a pixie? If you put a pic on maybe people could advise a bit better.

I'd use a serum or styling cream to smooth any flyaway hairs. Maybe try and work with it than against it. It's hard to know what your options are without seeing the cut. Razor cuts can be great but it's not what you asked for.

I used to have this and it will probably settle down and look less hacked at in a few days! I used to not like it when it first was done but then it starts to sit really nicely . Mine did anyway Grin

It used to me about 3 ins below my shoulder lever and was sort of a Rachel cut. So I could wear it straight or curled. I loved it. Now it hovers above my shoulder. It has changed the whole look of my face. My sister put straighteners through it and it was a little better but the tats at the nape of my neck are driving me mad. What's that all about. Why is that happening.
